Huge congratulations to Clayton and Greg on winning the Over 40s Regional Masters Tournament with South East Hockey 👏🏑

A brilliant achievement for both players and a proud moment for the club to see two Marden representatives helping bring home the title.

A massive thank you also to all our volunteers who helped deliver such a successful tournament weekend. The feedback from teams and officials was incredible, with so many positive comments about the facilities, organisation and welcome they received.

Events like this don't happen without a huge team effort, and we're proud to have showcased Marden at its best.

Massive congratulations to Clayton on being selected for the New Zealand Men's O40s squad for the Masters World Cup in Rotterdam 👏

Now he needs a little help getting there! The tournament is self-funded, and Clayton is running a raffle to help cover the costs of representing his country on the world stage.

🏆 England Hockey Lifetime Achievement Award (South East) – Congratulations Penny Webb 🏆

A huge congratulations to Marden’s own Penny Webb, who has been awarded the England Hockey Lifetime Achievement Award (South East) in recognition of her outstanding contribution to hockey.

For over 20 years, Penny has given so much to our sport through coaching, mentoring, umpiring and playing — inspiring generations of players both at Marden and across the wider hockey community.

Penny’s impact goes far beyond the pitch. Her dedication to expanding access to hockey for young people has been transformational, ensuring that school children have the chance to experience and enjoy our sport regardless of their school’s resources.

A particularly special legacy is Penny’s creation of the local 7-a-side schools competition, giving primary school children from Sandhurst and Rolvenden to Goudhurst and Colliers Green the opportunity to play, compete and fall in love with hockey.

This award recognises those who inspire others, serve the sport with distinction, create welcoming environments, and shape hockey for future generations — and Penny embodies all of these values.
