Summer is coming , First4boattraining and Medway Power boating are running PB2 courses on the following weekends 14th 15th , 29 30th March, 12th 13th,26th 27th April and 3rd 4th, 10th 11th , 24th 25th May . Cost for one to one tuition on any of those weekends £450 or in a group of 2 or more £350 each.

We are often asked were to get our weather information from. I’ve chosen three for looking at an intended trip out in the Solent on Sunday. The App Windy, BBC Met office surface weather charts and the outlook from the BBC/ Met office inshore waters. Which do you find easiest to understand? Are they all saying the same thing? Can you identify any differences?

The pontoon, for most of us , the start and end point of a journey. So coming or going needs to be practiced. And in January we’re offering master classes on boat handling in the Marina at Chatham onboard SYBARIS. Contact us for more information, dates and prices .

Bit cold last night , hence the shakes on the picture. But when true dark came the two Day Skipper students got SYBARIS back to her moorings with great skill using both methods of bearings and light sequences on the buoys and chart plotter.
This is the perfect time to get some night experience.

Something for free, try a motor boat afternoon. Starting in March, every third Friday of the month a two hour trip on SYBARIS. Full crew brief of course and then come and discover during a trip down the River what else we offer by way of training.
