Something different for the girls this weekend........

The team, alomg with the whole girls & womens section, had a great opportunity to be in a professional sports evirnoment at The Sports Lab at Canturbury Christ Church University 🎓🏃

The day started with a great club presentation from 👏

Then they had interactive workshops on psychology 🧠 & nutrition 🍎

And finally some fitness testing 🏃‍♀️

Its not just what happens on the pitch that matters - what happens off it is equally as important ✅

Thank you for organising such an aswesome day & for making the event so enjoyable 👏😀

Sadly the season has come to an end 😢

But, no one was feeling sad today as the team had a typically active, typically competitive & typically mad & fun filled day playing some football-golf ⚽️⛳️

Then it was time for the presentation to reward each & every player for their hard work, dedication, determination & complete effort that they have all put in each week, every week, to make this team the amazing group that they are 👏

Of course the team could not have done it without the manager & coach & for that the team are extremely grateful & were rewarded with gifts from the whole team 🫶

It’s always sad when the season finishes, but it won’t be long before the preparation begins again & this great bunch of girls will be back together ready to kick off another successful season 😊

The scoreline or the photos didn’t do this game justice-for both teams & the enormous effort they put in.😮

From the first whistle to the last both teams went toe-to-toe with each other like two heavyweight boxers fighting for the ultimate prize 🥊

The team went into this final with four players cup tied, one out on concussion rest, the captain suffered a foot injury the night before & no subs. But, the game had to be played & the team were up for the challenge 💪

And challenge they did. And they did us proud ❤️

Despite going behind twice early on & the team looking dejected, after a motivating team talk at half time - the team came out fighting, bringing the game back to a draw. And even with players going down they knew there were no subs & had to keep on playing. For lengthy periods they were on top & looked to have the edge, but in true cup final fashion our opponent grabbed the winner in the last minutes of the game 🏆

Despite the loss, the team gave it everything & we couldn’t be more prouder 👏

And testament to how well the team performed our very own Sapphire received Player of the Match for her own individual performance - well done .football 👏❤️

Well done to our opponent for being the winner & a huge congratulations to both teams for providing an entertaining & emotional cup final👏🏆
