At the tower we were gifted a set of very old Essex Association Annual Reports and booklets from a previous tower captain who had passed away.
In order to preserve the reports which were individual editions with very rusty staples, I (Vicki) offered to bind them into 4 volumes.
I will document the process here, and some of the interesting information I found inside them.
Some years are missing but we have a range from 1902 to 1967.
It will be over a number of posts. I hope you enjoy them. š

Today we had a spring clean of the Bell Tower. A real thorough spring clean - All 4 floors!
Lizzie, Kim & Jeff climbed the vertical ladder to the roof and sacks of Guano, rubble & debris were lowered down by rope.
David & I were on the next level down on top of the bell frame. He cleaned 2 thirds to my one as I was shuffling super carefully around, while he nipped about humming to himself at home with the environment.
Sarah, Peter and Emily were below the bell frame hoovering and sweeping.
We hoovered the next floor down and all the way down the spiral staircase to the ground floor where Barbara was dusting and cleaning.
A well earned coffee break half way through damped down the dust in our throats (despite the face masks) and we were good to continue.
It really has made a difference.

Photos and video on the roof taken by Lizzie. - Iād have loved to go up there but that vertical ladder is one step too far for me!! š±
