Warrior 2 or Virabhadra Asana enhances strength and stamina of beginners and advanced yogis. 🧘🏻♀️
(I am doing this asana on a slope so my feet are not in full alignment as I was trying to find my balance.)
The name Virabhadra is the name of a fierce warrior, created by the wrath of the Shiva.
When Shiva hears of the self-immolation of his consort, Sati, at the Daksha yajna, he angrily hurls a lock of his matted hair upon the ground.
This gives rise to Virabhadra, a vengeful being who then attacks those responsible for Sati’s grief and humiliation.

I was 19 when I first learnt meditation in the program. Young and restless as I was, I was just unable to keep up. It was hard to sit still, hard not to obsess over people, events, or situations, hard to let go. It actually took me 4 years after that to get my first meditative experience- and that happened when I stayed committed to regular practice for at least 3 weeks. Meditation is an incredible tool to deal with the stress of our modern lives - it's hard to imagine how I would have managed myself, my mind, my life, if it weren't for meditation. 🧘♀️ PS: Actually, I also learnt meditation when I was 18 in a Pranic healing course. Pranic Healing was a beautiful program as well -though I could not remain connected to it as much as I instantly connected with the Art of Living program, remaining on this path ever since.
