Focus moves to working closely with Arthritis and Parkinson’s Sufferers last week with the support of our military veterans and other clients we were able to guide Mags up the British Camp something she thought she’d never do. Suffering for over a decade, loss of breath, weight increase as well as the joint and muscle pain she’s become mobile and motivated. Today she took on the Beacon of which will be part of her Three Ridges challenge in the next few months . She achieved it! . At 63 and the arthritis deep within her we are so proud of Mags. The disadvantages of running include: Injuries: Running is a high-impact exercise that can put a lot of stress on your joints, muscles, and bones, which can increase the risk of injury. Common running injuries include shin splints, knee pain, and plantar fasciitis.
Times your current weight by three, each time you decide to run that’s the weight going through your knees and ankle joints. Yes it’s great cardio! Trust me if you can’t run properly your hip joints, back and knees will not be helping you get off the couch let alone doing couch to 5km .

When you see all these PTs start calling themselves ‘Coach’
The title of “coach,” personal trainers aim to highlight their role as comprehensive guides and supporters in their clients’ overall health and wellness journey. The big issue is that some now without experience have publicly called themselves ‘Coaches’ because it’s the in thing to do. It’s a softer approach to gain clients. The simple way to explain it is it’s like when Wimbledon is on everyone goes to play tennis. Within a few weeks it’s over, they are on to the next ’in thing’.
Choose your Trainer, Coach, Instructor based on experience not just qualifications, if she or he (here we go ) is that good they will also advise you who else may help you to achieve your goals. There is a great but short list of experienced individuals in the area so before you take to asking everyone who is recommended etc many will have preferences as they will know them or have used them previously which is good. Solely it’s your decision the short fix is all part of ‘accountability’ if you’re prepared for that then good luck on your journey how ever long it will be.
