Week 10 pool league 7/5/2026
Billy vs Ben C, 10:35pm on 7th May 2026 the balls are racked, last round, a win for Billy would mean glory. A loss would hand Wornes the trophy. Fast forward 10 nail biting minutes, the man from Stockport steps up to the black….. and drains it.
A huge congratulations to for winning league this semester, especially impressive as this was his first year at the society, beating out very strong competition 🏆
Also huge well done to second is still a very good achievement and it is sad to see him leave us at the end of the year. What he does on and off the table for our society is impressive. 🥈
Sharav looked like he had top 3 on lockdown, it would take a complete Arsenal bottle from him and a flawless run from , andddddddd that’s exactly what happened. Congrats to Tommy for 🥉 a very impressive night
The rest of the top 10 is as follows
4) Sharav
5) Bailey
6) Ben C
7) Jake
8) Toki
9) Tony
10) Olivia
Thank you to everyone who came out to league this year. It’s been a pleasure to be your league sec and I’m already looking forward to doing it all again next year 🎱

Week 9 pool league 30/4/2026
Forget the premier league, forget the snooker, this championship is the one everyone should have eyes on going in to its final stages.
A poor week from Wornes dropping 3 games has seen him slip to 3rd, Billy and Sharav are the beneficiaries who move up to 1st and 2nd respectively. With one week to go there’s just 0.526 separating these 3. It really could go any way!!
Best of the rest is Tommy in 4th, Bailey 5th, Ben C 6th, Jake 7th, Olivia 8th, myself 9th and Tony 10th.
See you all next week for the final dance, you really don’t want to miss this one,
Henry C.

Week 8 pool league 23/4/2026
Pool returned this week from Easter with a sizzling seven rounds.
The top 3 are now separated by less than a point setting up a blockbuster end to the semester. Wornes clearly saw Arsenal recently and thought I’d have a bit of that, however just about remains top for now, Billy overtakes Sharav for second.
Over 5 points back sees Ben C 4th, Tommy 5th, Skillin 6th and Neymar 7th. Rounding out the top 3 is Bailey, Jake and myself.
See you at both league and the AGM next week, remember to get your votes in for committee and awards :)

Last weekend we took two 5 man teams to BUCS Snooker hosted by the UPC at Northern Snooker in Leeds.
Matei (The GOAT) Rosca claimed his third Individuals Gold Medal and was crowned champion for the 3rd time!! In an impressive feat, Matei went unbeaten throughout the entire event, going 22-0 - incredible.
Also in the individuals, Ben W made a solid effort, finally defeating the R1 curse, ultimately losing in the QF to a strong Charlie Matthews after a good run.
Honourable mentions to Ben C who lost to the eventual trophy winner in the L16.
In the teams - Manchester 1s cruised through their group stage winning all games. On KO day they turned up and demolished UCL 1s 6-0, then proceeded to beat Leeds 1s 6-1 in the semi finals, ultimately losing 6-3 to ICL 1s in the final, claiming silver medals.
Manchester 2s had tough group but managed to qualify for the trophy in 3rd position. In the L16 they beat UCL 2s 3-1, then East Anglia 1s 3-2. Onto the semi finals they dispatched Birmingham 1s 3-1, then ultimately lost to a very strong Bath 1s 3-1.
10 players, 10 silver medals and a champion and gold medal in Matei (the GOAT) Rosca. Safe to say we had a successful weekend. Thanks for and for hosting! Also big thanks for for photos.

Week 6 pool league 10/30/2026
The 6 rounds this week saw many rises and falls on our leaderboard.
B.washed remains at the top. Sharav moves in to second and Billy is sitting pretty in 3rd.
Olivia is 4th, Ben C 5th, Bailey 6th. Tommy drops down a few places to 7th as he was absent giving b.washed a bit more breathing room.
Rounding off the top 10 is Ewan, Ethan and dropping to 10th in Neymar. This less said about his night the better.
In happier news for Neymar and our snooker teams they all won silver medals🥈at BUCS snooker so a massive congratulations to them. Especially to Matei for winning the championship singles unbeaten 🥇. In pool news also huge well done to our Christie team for taking home the gold 🥇
Best of luck to our teams this weekend at the Sheffield Hallam open.

Below were our worthy Easter egg winners 🍳
Championship 1st: The lesser spotted Charlie Ponting
Championship 2nd: Bailey
Trophy 1st: Louis
Shield 1st: Anna
Finally best of luck to our BUCS snooker teams at Leeds over the next few days 🔴🟡🟢🟤🔵🩷⚫️

BUCS 8-Ball Roundup
This year we took a record number of teams to compete which brought more medal success.
Congratulations to the women’s 1s for silver in the trophy, only being stopped by a strong Lancaster team.
Also, on his 8-Ball BUCS debut, Tian had a great run in the trophy to get bronze
Open 1s lost to #1 seed Exeter in the L16 champs after a solid performance in the groups
Open 2s reached the trophy QF losing to a strong LJMU 1s
Open 3s reached the shield L32 up against a Greg Clarke led Hallam side
Women’s 2s unfortunately didn’t make it out the groups after a tense black ball shootout

Week 5 pool league 6/3/2026
A mammoth 7 rounds this week led to those that were on their game to make moves on the leaderboard.
B.washed is sitting at the top. Tommy is second, only going 6️⃣/7️⃣ this week and as a result has lost his unbeaten record, Bailey was his Achilles heel. Sharav moves in to 3rd.
Elsewhere Billy moves in to 4th at the expense of Neymar who drops 2 places to 5th. Bailey, Ben, Olivia, Skillin and Leo complete the top 10 this week.
Huge congratulations to Tian and the women’s 1sts team of Olivia, Eshani and Leah who all won medals at BUCS 8 ball. 🥳
