Anyone that knows me knows that I have done my fair share of solo travel 😂 I usually make some amazing friends along the way never seem to spend a day alone (which I do love) but this time it was different. By visiting a quieter island the only person that I had to show up for was myself. This past year has been busy thank you God but I was also grateful for the downtime.
Did I exercise whilst I was away? Yess…you know me 😂
Did I exercise the way that I normally do? No, but life is also about embracing being present in the moment and living out experiences
There is some work to do fitness wise as it has been nearly 2 weeks since I have been able to train consistently but if you are to take anything from this post it is this…
give yourself the grace that you give to everyone else
Don’t allow yourself to be consumed by what you feel that you ought to have done, tomorrow by Gods grace is a new day ♥️

We only glance in the rear view mirror not to dwell on the past, but to appreciate the distance we’ve traveled.
One of the beautiful things about being on a fitness journey as once committed and it becomes a part of your lifestyle- transformation is inevitable.
I have been reflecting a lot on my past recently, not out of regret, shame or guilt but out of a deep appreciation for how far that I have come & what I have overcome by the grace of God.
The amount of times that I wanted to diminish my presence in rooms, situations and circumstances. How I use to just appreciate being “picked” or thought about. But with life experience and reflection, you start entering into situations as a daughter of a King. You also start treating your body as such and showing up in the world with this assurance.

This is for you ♥️
This transformation has been my whole life in the making but the past 10 years have been so pivotal. I wanted to bring some vulnerability to my feed as in this day and age, especially with the rise in social media, this is becoming rare.
The person on the left sought validation from others
The person on the left never felt good enough, pretty enough, special enough, or smart enough
The person on the left, sought to please others and in that process sacrificed her own happiness
The person on the left was defined by their past
The person on the left compromised what was important to her to make other people happy
They always knew that they were destined for greatness but as time when went, thought that God forgot about them
They were overlooked, disregarded, disrespected and taken advantage of
Their smile was just a facade as they knew that this is what everyone wanted to see and to not scratch beyond the surface

In the midst of these two images - I made a choice.
To invest in myself and to not to depend solely on people to do this.
To put my health first, my fitness first and to turn that passion into a qualification
I learnt that true confidence comes first of all in God and then through the actions that you take. By investing in your health and respecting your body, you start to trust yourself. By making these positive choices it flows into other areas of your life.
Survival has always been at the core of my being, it has impacted on the choices that I have made and the person that I have become. This has meant that I have only in the past couple of years started to understand who I am as a person, what are my non negotiables, what I enjoy doing and what is important to me.
I’m excited about the person that I am becoming, as for the first time in my life, I know who that person is and I love her already ♥️

Working out on your own with your homemade plan will only take you so far
It’ll give you great initial progress but it won’t take you to that next level that you’re craving
This is where you NEED a coach to come in to provide you with accountability...
Someone who has experience in overcoming these plateaus in the most effective way possible
If you think of every successful person in any discipline, they all have some form of coach/mentor, it is ok to receive support. In fact that will help to push you even further

The past couple of days have reiterated to me the importance of getting true rest and resting in God’s presence.
Rest is important to your fitness journey as well as your spiritual walk with the Lord. Scripture is filled with God's promises to provide rest when we seek Him. God is an endless source of peace and strength and He created us to need Him!
Rest whatever that looks like to you (for me that looks like catching a ✈️ & connecting with people that I never meet in my daily life) should be prioritised as much as your day to day life and fitness journey.

Keeping this amazing client of mine anonymous 😍🤐🤫 but honestly I’m so proud of her and we are JUST GETTING STARTED 🔥
This client is super busy with her job, family commitments and she’s also been known for booking last minute holidays on multiple occasions as well 😂
She was struggling with fatigue, lack of motivation and joint pain. Ready to make a change my client reached out to me, she was determined to make some positive changes to her overall health & fitness.
She was also looking for balance, but also needed accountability and support to see this journey through.
Throughout this process she’s learning more about what she can do and how determined she can be when putting herself and her goals first.

“I’m trying to create healthier habits for the future and I really want to actually enjoying start going to the gym”
When Aaliyah came to me, she had tried going to the gym before but didn’t enjoy the experience and was struggling to commit to it.
She wanted to improve her confidence and strength by understanding resistance training.
She has an incredibly busy work routine,
Can be required to travel at short notice,
But she wanted to hold herself to a high standard and give everything to herself this year.
This has been evident in her results.
Everything that I advised, she did and anything that I said that she was capable of, she tried.
The biggest challenge for Aaliyah was her understanding that she needed more food in her diet to achieve her goals.
