Great win for our Stockport league team against Eccles 2nd team

Their board 3 no show but great win from Andreas, Josh and an tactical draw on board 2 from rob to give us our 1st win in the Stockport league

Last night our 2nd team was away to Bolton 4 in the league

We did lose 3.5-2.5 but great win for captain Mark Davis. Draw from draw master John reyes, Elliott Barnett and Joshua Davies. Unlucky for Srikrish and Matthew playing higher graded opponents

The ECF regrets to report that GM Jonathan Hawkins, a former British chess champion, has lost his battle with cancer.

Jonathan was British champion in 2014 and 2015. He was also a highly successful junior coach. Our sympathies go to his partner Angela Eyton and all his family.

On Thursday Urmston 1 was away to Bolton 2 and we beat them in the league 5.5-0.5 and would we do the same

Unfortunately Bolton Chess Club beat us 5-1

Dennis owen drew on board 1 and John reyes who only played his 1st mcf of the season managed a draw on board 4 but is still looking for his 1st win still lol

Well done to Bolton 2 for the hospitality

Our 2nd team is at home to chorlton 3 in the Hartley cup and hope to do their best

Last night our Manchester 1st team was at home to Blue Club Chess Club 2nd team and we managed to win 4.5 - 1.5 in the cup match and will be playing Bolton 2 in the next round

We started our league match vs their 1st team on the 6th October and will be stronger then their 2nd team

Last night our Stockport league u1600 team was in the final of the presidents cup against Blue Club Chess Club and we lost 4-1 to them
