A source close to Harry Maguire: "Harry needs pace around him, but he hasn't had that, if you put Ruben Dias in the United defence and Harry in the City back-four, Dias would struggle and Harry would thrive. Not sure this is specifically true. There’s no real outstanding pace in City’s back four, I think it’s more an issue with profiles and on current evidence, Varane and Martinez suit each other the better than anyone that Maguire could pair with.

Spurs’ Cristian Romero has said that Virgil van Djokovic and Lisandro Martinez are the “best in the league” in terms of central defenders.

FT| Sheriff 0-2 Manchester United
A quieter second half but the win was needed. Some very good individual performances throughout the game which is the main positive. Eriksen, Sancho and Mctominay the pick of the bunch, a lot of the positive link up play came from them. Manchester Derby when we’re back from the international break, looking forward to it.
