Sir Jim Ratcliffe might be hell bent on looking for his own or the next Mbappe but I highly doubt he would allow INEOS to cough up a hundred million for a teenager who is plying his trade in the Bundesliga .

Just one good season, not sure if he will be consistent if signed - even there's no guarantee he will hit these numbers again next season.

Yes, I am skeptical of Bundesliga signings, the direct to Premier League ones actually.

I think Man United should know better and look at players snapped up after an impressive season in Germany.

Jadon Sancho, Kolo Muani, Wirtz, Frimpong, T. Werner, - it takes very serious quality and discipline for players from that league to excel outside of it.

Given the hype and the numbers, Yan Diamonde should be a £50 million signing.

And let's put it at the back of our minds that sometimes these numbers are intentionally inflated by the media.

Luis Enrique is expected to sign a new contract with PSG, meaning Man United will need to look elsewhere for their next manager.

The two most realistic candidates appear to be Julian Nagelsmann & Michael Carrick:

Julian Nagelsmann:
- Highly experienced for his age (Germany national team, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig)
- Clear tactical identity and an ambitious, modern approach
- Would represent a bold reset for the club

However: No Premier League experience, would likely need full backing and time from the board, and there are some question marks over his man-management skills.

Michael Carrick:
- Deep knowledge of the club and dressing room
- Calm, respected presence with a strong cultural fit
- Already understands the United way

However: It would be a massive step up from interim to permanent manager, and he remains highly unproven at the very highest level.

The big question for INEOS:👇

Should they go bold with Nagelsmann, or familiar with Carrick?

▪️ In August 2014, he joined Manchester United from Sporting for €20 million, signing a five-year deal, while Nani moved the opposite way on loan.

▪️ He made his debut in a 4–0 win over Queens Park Rangers. He suffered a shoulder injury later that season and scored his first goal in February 2015 in an FA Cup match.

▪️ He faced issues during the 2015 pre-season, missing the tour due to passport problems and was fined. He also featured in the 2016 FA Cup Final, which United won.

▪️ In 2017, he scored his first Premier League goal but suffered a serious knee injury that ended his season. He returned later that year and was part of the squad that won the Europa League.

▪️ He signed a new contract in 2018 but struggled with injuries and limited appearances. In January 2020, he was loaned to Estudiantes after falling out of regular action.

▪️If you remember him just say Good morning .

The seven that will decide Michael Carrick's future 👀

Harry Maguire says Ruben Amorim deserves 'credit' for Man United's direction 🤝

27/03/2026

A lot of people don’t actually realize this, but the foundation Amorim built is exactly what Carrick is running on.

Let me break it down, stay with me.

First, discipline.

I won’t call it a full cultural reset because it wasn’t complete, but the shift was obvious. On the pitch, United became more structured. Bruno Fernandes, for example, reduced his low-percentage “hero ball” and played with far better positional discipline, especially in buildup phases.

Off the pitch, things tightened up too. Fewer media leaks, fewer public distractions. That doesn’t happen by accident, that’s coaching and internal control.

Second, the squad overhaul.

Recruitment improved. Profiles made more sense, players suited the system better, and more importantly, the outgoings were decisive. The squad looked more balanced, and even critics of the manager will admit the squad construction was moving in the right direction.

Third, injury management.

This is one area that doesn’t get talked about enough. Recurring injuries were reduced, and when players did get injured, recovery timelines were better managed. The availability of key players improved compared to previous periods.

Now the most important part, the trajectory.

You could see a team that was losing games, yes, but not collapsing. They were competing. The structure remained intact, the effort was consistent, and there was visible belief in how they played.

Against stronger opposition, the gap didn’t feel chaotic anymore. There was organization, urgency, and a clear idea.

So when people say Amorim “failed,” I don’t fully agree.

Off the pitch, he clearly didn’t.

On the pitch, the results weren’t perfect, but the trajectory was positive. Not explosive, but steady and building.

And that matters more than people think.
