A little reminder that rest is productive too ā˜€ļø

Normally on a Monday I’d be online hosting classes but with the weather as good as it was and everyone making the most of the Bank Holiday, I decided to join in for once šŸ˜…

Working hard means nothing if you never allow yourself time to enjoy life too.

Here's to sunshine, switching off, and recharging šŸ’›

Teaching the Kinisi Flow Gallop Crawl

Not just a crawl. A full-body coordination challenge that builds rhythm, mobility, and dynamic core strength all at once.

This ground-based flow teaches the body to move as one connected system through explosive hops, fluid transitions, and cross-body patterning. Every rep challenges balance, posture, stability, and control without loading the joints with heavy impact.

Why it works:
Dynamic core stability
Cross-pattern coordination
Thoracic mobility + posture control
Fluid movement under tension
Strength through motion, not stiffness

Move with rhythm. Move with intent. Flow > force.

On Saturday I had my second somatic release breathwork session and this time the experience was completely different to my first.

The past week I’d barely slept. I’d been feeling sluggish, emotional, disconnected from myself and honestly stuck in a bit of a slump. Perimenopause has been hitting hard lately and I’ve noticed how quickly I slip into trying to push through it all anyway. Keeping the business moving, staying productive, trying to outrun the exhaustion.

But during this session my body wanted something else entirely.

Throughout the breathwork I had vivid images of myself lying on a forest floor, completely still, looking up at the trees swaying gently in the wind above me. Then the treetops slowly opened into a perfect circle and the sky beyond turned black and filled with stars until it consumed my entire vision. I felt weightless. Calm. Held. Like my nervous system had finally stopped bracing for a moment.

There was no huge emotional release this time. No intensity. No fighting. Just deep stillness.

And at the end, this was the card I randomly pulled:

ā€œTake a break. A life’s work, not a season. Get off the treadmill.ā€

I actually laughed when I read it because it couldn’t have been more aligned with where I am right now.

I think so many of us have been conditioned to believe we always need to be striving, producing, healing, achieving, moving onto the next thing. But this experience reminded me that life isn’t meant to be lived at a constant sprint. Our bodies eventually ask us to slow down and if we don’t listen, they usually make us eventually.

The forest imagery felt symbolic too. Trees don’t rush. Nature doesn’t force. There are seasons for growth, seasons for rest, seasons for shedding and recalibrating.

Maybe this chapter of my life isn’t about pushing harder.
Maybe it’s about learning how to soften.
How to pause without guilt.
How to trust that resting doesn’t mean falling behind.

And maybe that’s what healing actually looks like sometimes.

Thank you again ā¤ļøšŸ™

Life is tough, messy, weird, and way too serious sometimes… so don’t forget to enjoy the silliness 🤪
