Our first Development Centre of the winter takes us to Dragon Riders BMX Club in Rhyl, Wales! 🐉

We’re kicking things off with a tight, technical track that will challenge riders’ cornering technique, bike control and precision, alongside some fantastic straights to develop and refine technical skills at speed! 🚀

We’ll also be taking the opportunity to discuss individual goals, rider development and winter training, helping riders identify areas for improvement and set clear objectives as we build towards the 2027 season! 📈

North BMX Development Centre #23 🤩

We’re back with something a little different this month 👀 This Development Centre is paired with Manchester BMX’s Super Saturday (Club Race); making this a race preparation focused session 💪

We’ll be guiding riders through how to manage a race day; from practice; to handling nerves; to nutrition; bike set up; and race tactics 👊 Everything you need to feel confident; prepared; and ready to perform on the gate.

Riders will also have their own dedicated Development Centre gazebo; based with the coaches all day 🤝 creating a supportive race day learning environment 🔥

Your race entry is covered within the Development Centre; so there’s no need to register separately 🙌

Alongside this; we’re also running an S&C Workshop 🌟 Riders will be given a time slot; focusing on the fundamentals of strength and conditioning; with valuable tools for both riders and parents to take away.

These sessions will be led by North Region Lead Development Coach; Connor Hedges; supported by northern club coaches 👊

DEVELOPMENT CENTRE #22

Straight off the back of our race prep session at the National Cycling Centre, where we focused on riding with intent; we visited for the final Development Centre of the winter block 🙌

This one was about letting the riders RIDE. Putting into action everything they’ve built over the last 6 months; pushing boundaries; asking questions; and sending some crazy lines 💪

We’ll be back in season for race focused development 🤘

Thank you to Ash Richardson; Andrew Mackie; and Hannah Drew for supporting as part of the Norths Coaches CPD 👊

North BMX Development Centre #22 & #23🤩

*2 WEEKS TO GO*

Weve been invited by the Midlands region to link up at the National Cycling Centre 💪 During this Development Centre we will continue to challenge riders technically and build on major race prep! Jumping being a key focus at this track 😜

20 Spaces for North Riders
20 Spaces for Midlands Riders

Crewe will host the cluster and next development centre the day after! We understand this may be difficult for some to attend both, but the opportunity of the indoor was too good to turn down!

If you are planning to attend both, cost will be subsidised for the Crewe session.

These sessions will be lead by West Midlands & North Region Lead Development Coaches, Martin Brown & Connor Hedges, and assisted by northern club coaches! 🤝

BOTH Sessions are live on the British Cycling website, under the ‘Go-Ride Events’ section!
