Quite possibly the most rewarding part of my job.
Training young lads and watching them grow into young men.
Seeing them get stronger, faster and more confident in the gym.
Giving them a place to take their mind off school, have a laugh, open up and talk about things they might not normally talk about elsewhere.
A space where they can be themselves, express how they’re feeling with zero judgement and know someone is listening.
Gives me a massive sense of pride.
Hands down one of the best parts of what I do.
Big up Emmanuel and Dan

For many of you, nutrition doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be realistic.
Over the years, I’ve seen so many people struggle and it’s not necessarily because they weren’t disciplined.
But because they tried to change everything overnight.
Cutting out the foods you enjoy. Meal prepping seven days a week. Following a plan that doesn’t fit your life.
You might stick to it for a week.
Maybe two.
Three if you’re lucky.
Then life gets busy, work gets stressful, motivation starts to dip.
And before you know it, you’re back where you started.
That’s why I take a different approach.
I like to meet people where they’re at.
We make the changes that matter, keep the foods you enjoy and build habits that fit naturally around your lifestyle.
My job isn’t to give you the strictest diet.
My job is to help you build a plan that feels natural.
One that gets results without feeling like you’re constantly missing out.
Because in my experience, the best nutrition plan isn’t the most restrictive one.
It’s the one you can still follow six months from now.
That’s what sustainability looks like.
And that’s what so many people are missing.
What does a serving of carbs actually look like? 🤔
Carbs don’t make you gain fat, eating more calories than you burn does.
Understanding what a typical serving looks like can make it much easier to build balanced meals without fearing carbs.
🥔 Potatoes: 250g (raw) - 190 kcal
🍚 White rice: 80g (dry) - 280 kcal
🍝 Pasta: 80g (dry) - 275 kcal
These are guideline serving sizes and your ideal portion will depend on your goals, activity levels and individual calorie needs.
Carbs are your body’s preferred source of energy, especially if you’re active or training regularly.
Don’t cut them out!!!!
Learn your portions, adjust them to suit your needs and focus on your overall calorie intake instead.
Stop scooping your elbows behind your body on lat pulldowns👇
Pulling your elbows behind your body at the bottom of a lat pulldown can take tension away from where you want it.
Instead think about driving your elbows down towards your front pockets to keep the movement controlled and your lats doing the work.
One of the first things I get some clients to do when starting a fat loss phase is keep eating exactly as they normally would.
No meal plan.
No food restrictions.
No cutting out their favourite foods.
Just track everything they eat and drink for a few days.
Why?
Because many people don’t actually know where their calories are coming from.
The coffees, sauces, snacks, takeaways, handfuls of food throughout the day, it all adds up.
Often, that awareness alone is enough to highlight the changes that will make a fat loss phase far more successful.
You can’t improve what you haven’t identified.

I’ve been training Emanuel for the best part of 5 years now so it meant a lot that he chose to come do his work placement here with me at .
Over the week we covered a number of different things:
• Exercise coaching & cueing
• Muscle groups & movement patterns
• Shadowing PT sessions
• Client consultations
• Programme design
• Nutrition basics
• Session planning & delivery
It was great to see him show a genuine interest in the coaching side of things and apply what he’d learned in practical situations throughout the week.
A really enjoyable few days and hopefully a valuable insight into the fitness industry.
Scroll to the end for where it all started 😂➡️

Stop being so hard on yourself.
So many of you are doing so many things right.
But are hyper focusing on the one thing you did “wrong.”
Look, nobody’s perfect.
Your fat loss journey isn’t going to be straight forward.
You’re going to screw up.
And that’s absolutely fine.
What’s not fine is letting one small slip convince you that you’re failing.
One meal, one missed workout, one off day doesn’t erase all the good habits you’ve been building.
Give yourself credit for the things you ARE doing well.
The walks. The workouts. The better choices. The consistency you’ve shown.
Progress comes from what you do most of the time, not from being perfect all of the time.

Most people don’t fail fat loss, they just try to do too much too soon.
All in training plans, super strict diets, cutting everything they enjoy overnight.
What they don’t realise is they’re trying to undo years of habits in a matter of weeks.
That kind of pressure is what leads to burnout and falling off track completely.
Yes some people can flip the switch and nail it but most can’t.
And that’s not a lack of discipline it’s just reality.
Sustainable fat loss isn’t about turning your life upside down.
It’s more about building habits you can actually stick to.
Learning when to compromise and when to enjoy yourself is part of the process.
