U15s Eagles Win Division!

🏆 CHAMPIONS! 🦅

A huge congratulations to our u15s Eagles boys and girls who have won their division in impressive fashion! Every one of them has worked incredibly hard throughout the season, and this achievement is thoroughly deserved. From the first game to the last, they have shown commitment, teamwork, resilience and a brilliant attitude and their coaches couldn't be prouder of what they achieved.

Now it's time to celebrate together as Division Champions and collect the trophy!

Well done, everyone. Enjoy the moment—you've done yourselves, your parents and the club proud.

RUNS, WICKETS AND PLENTY OF DRAMA! ☀️🏏
It was a weekend of mixed results for our senior teams, with some big performances and plenty to build on.

Friday - the 1s travelled to Swinton knowing a win would guarantee a home QF and fell just short of a mammoth chase despite 50 for the skipper, Abishek.

Saturday - the 1s were back at HQ on Saturday as they took on Thornham. Range posted 191 built on the back of a top innings of 66 by overseas star, Jabari Mills. Despite Thornham falling to 82-5, the Rochdale-based side sneaked home with 7 balls and 3 wickets remaining in front of a strong home crowd! The 2s travelled to fellow promoted side Darcy Lever and struggled in the duets innings as they were bowled out for 122, runs for Smith on his return from injury. Richards’ made a good fist of the defence, taking out 7 Darcy wickets thanks to a fine spell from the smiling Bilal (5-39)!

Sunday - the women’s 1s entertained a large President’s day crowd with a brilliant win over New Mills. They were helped by a top innings from Noreen and another great spell from Hannah!
Aaqib’s 4s were in quarter final cup action away at Walshaw. Range reduced Walshaw to 131 thanks to 4fer from Shahzaib and chased it down convincingly with help from Rich and Akhtar!
Khuram captained a youthful 6s side away at Woodbank and led by example making 42 as his side reached 145ao. Woodbank won a thriller by one wicket despite a 5fer for the returning Sam Raaj in his first game of the season! What a weekend!

The cricket doesn’t stop with the 1s away at Droylsden tonight in the t20 QF before travelling to high-flying Worsley tomorrow in what promises to be a spicy encounter! The 2s are at home to Woodley on Saturday and the 4s host top of the league Clifton on Sunday.

Plenty of cricket on so come down and show your support, up the Range!

EXTRAORDINARY WHALLEY RANGE SUCCESS!!!

Over the past seven days, Whalley Range juniors have scooped up three league titles at u11, u13 and u15 age groups!

Friday - u13🦁’s won the league title chasing down Toft’s below par 96 with ease, Zakariyya and Anas guiding the team home. The u9🦁’s lose a tough one against Bowdon

Sunday - u11🦅’s started off a successful President’s day at WRCC with a comfortable win over Wythy while the u11🦁’s brought home the league title from Bowdon with excellent innings from Zeki and Billy!

Monday - The silverware party continued on Monday with the u15🦁’s securing the division 1 title with an efficient chase against Hale Barns, runs for Abdul Wahab and a great spell by Hashim making the job much easier! Both u9 sides were successful with more runs for Khalil but the u11🦁’s unfortunately lost out to Urmston after a busy week for a lot of the side.

Wednesday/Thursday - the u13 girl’s side unfortunately lost out to Toft and the u18s were once again defeated this time against Ashley despite tight spells from Zayyan Wahab and Ishmaeel.

An amazing week for the club overall and testament to the hard work put in by both the kids turning up as well as the coaches and parents putting in the long hours!

As it goes this time of year, the cricket is non-stop with the u13s and 15s in action tonight before summer camp starts next week. There is senior action at HQ over the weekend and the bar will be open so come down and enjoy the sun while it lasts!
