have worked with Jo a couple of times over the past twelve months and I have watched her grow so much.
I set a challenge for her to take a good look in the mirror and find three things she loves about her body. Not many people, especially women, can actually do this. Jo embraced it and came back with three great answers including this absolute corker… she was smiling.
After many many years being a member of Slimming World, Jo finally quit last year after learning a new way to fuel her body via Rebalance. When we had a conversation in person she spoke to me about how confident she felt now. About food and about fitness.
And now her body too!

As we draw Rebalance 06 to a close our check ins and conversations have honestly touched me.
One particular member was desperate to get started Rebalancing in January as she felt very low. We had many conversations and I just heard the sadness in her voice, she was desperate to learn to love herself.
Work, life, kids, they play a toll and sometimes we forget we need taking care of too. So when I received a message that said “I really need your help… I need to get healthy again for my kids and my own mental health” I got out my paperwork and we got started.
Most people don’t need anything complicated, just a person in their corner guiding them and making them feel they are moving in the right direction.
Through Rebalance I have learned to provide this alongside a group of people who need accountability.
After ten weeks, I believe this Rebalancer has turned the most important corner of her life. She has started to accept her strength, her beauty and built a foundation to carry her forwards with some confidence into 2025.
Whilst her original goal was to lose a little weight, I made some notes as we spoke and I picked an additional goal for her. I didn’t tell her but watched her grow and start believing in herself as I had wished. After ten weeks her smile got bigger, her words had meaning and her motivation is stronger than it was back in January.
She did lose weight - more than she had gained over the past year and she looks great. But she also feels great too and this is way more important! She is enjoying her fitness again after finding the happy middle ground when it comes to how frequently to go.
Rebalancer - I want you (and the whole world) to know just how proud I am of you. Your bravery lead you here, your motivation kept you here. And by here I mean this gorgeous world of self acceptance.

It’s been a while since you’ve seen one of these!
We’re now approaching the third trimester of Rebalance 06 (my first online Rebalance) and we’re seeing progress.
Whilst yes, most people do want to lose a bit of body weight, for many it’s about having healthier habits and focusing on a sustainable, fruitful future in a body that can keep up.
Jo has taken part in Rebalance previously and this time wanted to focus on fuelling her body to get the most out of every day - even on the days that life can try to upturn routine. And she is smashing it! I hear such positivity in her voice and see her numbers in the gym moving in the direction she wants, I’m so proud.
We have another few weeks to go of Rebalance 06 to keep this progress going. Would you be interested in a Rebalance 07?

No, it’s not my 58th birthday!
In just over a year, 14 months to be exact, I have helped 58 people with nutrition.
Super simple stuff, not meal planning for people or making them cut out food groups, not equating food to sins or piling plates with ‘free foods’ but trying to bring normality back to eating. Food as fuel. Food as enjoyment. Food as an essential part of life. Plates of balanced food. Food balanced with fitness and fun!
I based Rebalance on just that - rebalancing people’s expectations in a world where we are given a million different opinions and instructions for something that’s extremely basic. As my knowledge of supporting a wide range of people has grown Rebalance has also grown.
Sometimes people just need someone on their side, someone to help them see the simplicity in what we actually need and balance it with what we want.
58 people trusted me to help them, many of them still under my wing, many of them capable of continuing a balance in life with the knowledge and simple information provided via Rebalance. A bonus is many of them are now friends and each other’s support network!
To all of those 58, I want to say a big thank you for trusting me. You have helped me grow as a person and made me want to continue with my own education and knowledge building.

Motivation.
What’s yours?
I bumped into a friend on Saturday who had not been to the gym in a while. I asked her to come and do the partner wod with me on Sunday morning.
She came! She didn’t smile. So afterwards we had a little chat and she admitted she needed to start training again so she would feel better, she had just fallen out of routine. She said she just had no motivation. We have all been here.
I am not too far away from that time in a woman’s life where your body starts to work against you. So my motivation is that. To try and maintain as much control over it as I possibly can. If I get sweaty and lift weights, laugh with my friends and keep my body moving I hope in return it will do me a solid and not crumble under the pressure of unavoidable hormone changes in the future.
I want to be able to do handstands in random places without the fear of crumbling bones. And guess what… weightlifting is proven to increase bone density.
That’s my motivation.

The end of Rebalance 05 is almost here and check ins have begun.
Who knew that this would one day be my path? Definitely not me. But a great coach Personal Best strength & conditioning once took the time and patience to show me I could be a better, stronger person. I’ll forever be grateful because this has transitioned into something bigger… the ability for me to help others.
I found a way to put myself through CrossFit and nutrition education… gained my CFL2 and PNL1 in order to see if I could too change people’s lives in a very small way.
Sue, a repeat Rebalancer, is an amazing woman who has shown great dedication to nutrition and fitness for the first half of this year under my wing. Making small, sustainable changes I have seen her smile grow, her fitness levels increase and her mindset shift for the better.
When she first joined Rebalance, Sue messaged me privately to say “I won’t be joining in the group or doing anything social” and yet here we are with a big friendship group, swimming in cold water half naked, joining in the busiest CrossFit class of the day and openly discussing and sharing problems!
Sue Lyons Gibbo, you’re an inspiration to so many…. Keep that s**t up ❤️❤️❤️
