Players may have noticed the very elegant clock recently erected beside the 10th tee. This helpful addition to the course has been made possible by the generous funding of a memorial to our much-loved member, John Maloney, by his member friends. We are very grateful for their thoughtful gift, and hope that it will help players to keep to time during their rounds.

The course is blooming this week as the greens team complete the the final renovation of the flood damaged bunkers.

It really was ONE of the great nights at the Friday Frolics as Sophia Garrity, watched by son Jordan, aced the eighth hole with a five wood. And, amazingly, her tee shot defied gravity on the way to the first-ever hole-in-one of the South African’s career.

A casualty of Storm Dave over the weekend - the large tree rhs of the 13th fairway beyond the ditch. - Update 9th April - A tree surgeon has inspected the area today and advised that the remaining section is unsafe.

The area has been roped off and designated as a “No Play Zone.” Please do not attempt to retrieve balls from this area or cross the ropes under any circumstances. You may take free relief at the nearest point of entry — if there is any uncertainty, consult your playing partners and agree on the appropriate spot.

We are working to have the remaining part of the tree removed as soon as possible.

Captains' Drive In.
After postponements due to bad weather in November, the Captains' finally got to drive-in this week. Wishing both Lexi Hughes and Sue Denford the very best for a successful year.

A fine, dry day today for the our Seniors' Spring competition and lunch. A great turnout for the start of our season of friendly inter-club matches. Once again a big thank you to the organisers.
Thanks also goes to the ground staff for presenting the course in superb condition. Our magnificent magnolia also put in an appearance to mark the occasion.

Quizmasters John and David were hosts once again on Friday for another successful night of questions and brainteasers.

Serial winners and Man United fanatics, Ruben's Reds were absent due to Manchester United's fixture coinciding and being shown live on TV. But as host and Man City fan John put it, they might as well have been watching Comic Relief!

Nevertheless, a tense encounter resulted in The Early Birds celebrating victory by one point from The Watercolourists at the final whistle.
