British Taekwondo is delighted to welcome Dr Lucy Walton and Beth Munro as new Non-Executive Directors to the Board.
Their appointments bring a wealth of experience across grassroots Taekwondo and our Martial Art at elite level, and will strengthen the breadth of expertise within the Board as we look towards the future of Taekwondo across the UK.
Lucy brings extensive experience across a number of fields, having competed internationally before co-founding Taekwondo Machine in Manchester. Through the club, she has helped make Taekwondo accessible to new communities while supporting the development of athletes competing at the highest level.
Alongside her experience in sport, Lucy brings a strong background in technology and innovation as Co-founder and CEO of EdvoraAI, whose AI-powered platform for schools helps free up valuable teaching time while raising confidence and standards in the classroom.
Beth joins the Board having won Paralympic silver at Tokyo 2020 and becoming European champion in 2023, before representing Great Britain again at Paris 2024. Her experience as an elite athlete, alongside her background in psychology, will provide an important perspective on the athlete journey, Para Taekwondo and accessibility.
Together, Lucy and Beth bring different experiences and perspectives, united by a shared passion for Taekwondo and a commitment to helping shape a stronger, more inclusive and sustainable future for our martial art.
We look forward to welcoming Lucy and Beth to the Board and working with them as British Taekwondo continues to develop opportunities for everyone across the UK.
