He signed for City the day before the takeover. Nine years later, saying goodbye to Pablo Zabaleta felt like losing a part of the club. 🔵

He settled in Didsbury, learned the language and threw himself into Manchester life.

On the pitch, it was the overlap, the last-ditch challenge and the willingness to put his body in the way again.

And before the chaos of 93:20, it was Zaba who put us ahead against QPR.

The connection went well beyond that goal. Supporters could see how much wearing the shirt mattered to him, whether we were chasing trophies or having a difficult afternoon.

Which City player, past or present, has made you feel that same connection?

On this day in 2015, City were level in Germany with the clock approaching 90. Then Agüero won a penalty. 🔵

Joe Hart had already saved one at the other end, keeping us in a game that could easily have got away.

Sergio stepped up and turned a difficult European away night into a 2–1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

That fluorescent shirt brings this one straight back.

Beyond 93:20, which Agüero goal do you find yourself watching again and again?

Niall Quinn had already put City ahead. Then he had to put the gloves on. 🔵🧤

Maine Road, April 1991. Tony Coton was sent off after conceding a penalty against Derby, and City had no substitute goalkeeper.

Up stepped the centre-forward.

Quinn pulled on Coton’s green shirt, faced Dean Saunders from the spot and saved his penalty. Having opened the scoring with a volley, he spent the rest of the afternoon protecting City’s lead.

David White added a second and City won 2–1, with a late Derby goal denying Quinn a clean sheet.

Quinn later reckoned that save won him our Player of the Year award, even though he thought White had been the best player that season.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen happen in a City match? This takes some beating.

NEW IN 💙

Quick feet, tireless running and a knack for making something happen when City need it. There’s plenty to love about Bernardo Silva.

These signed 25/26 home shirts have just arrived, each accompanied by an official Manchester City certificate of authenticity issued directly by the club.

They’ll be going up on the website soon, but drop a comment or message us to register your interest before they’re gone.

Four Young Player of the Year awards in a row. Then, in 2004, Shaun Wright-Phillips won the senior award too. 🔵

City finished 16th that season, but Shaun gave us 11 goals in all competitions and plenty of reasons to keep watching.

The quick change of direction. The acceleration past a full-back. The willingness to have another go after someone had just sent him flying.

You could be watching a frustrating City performance, then the ball would reach him on the right and suddenly you were leaning forward again.

That First Advice shirt brings it all back.

Which City player could get you off your seat before they’d even taken a shot?

Six goals at Old Trafford, and we’re still talking about a pass. 🔵

David Silva’s ball to Edin Džeko for the sixth in the 6–1 deserves a replay all of its own.

The touch to lift it. The volley through United’s defence. The weight of the pass, giving Džeko a clear run towards goal.

At 5–1, Silva could have helped City see out the game. Instead, he spotted another chance and produced one of the finest assists you’ll ever see.

That was the pleasure of watching him. You could see the same pitch and the same players, yet he would find something you hadn’t noticed.

Is that the best pass you’ve seen from a City player?

If you’re choosing another, tell us the player and the game.

Happy 45th birthday, W***y Caballero. 🔵🧤

Before the 2016 League Cup final, there were calls for Joe Hart to start. Manuel Pellegrini had promised W***y the game, and he kept his word.

Then Liverpool scored their first penalty and Fernandinho hit the post. Easy to forget City were behind in that shootout before W***y saved three in a row.

Lucas Leiva. Coutinho. Adam Lallana.

By the time Yaya tucked away the winner, the goalkeeper some wanted left out had become the hero of the final.

His dad had travelled from Argentina to watch him play in England for the first time. He picked quite an afternoon.

Be honest: how confident were you when that final went to penalties?
