SYMPTOMS AS FOLLOWS:
⚠️EMERGENCY HEAT STROKE SYMPTOMS...
If a severe migraine or headache is accompanied by any of the following, call 999 (or your local emergency number) immediately:
HIGH BODY TEMPREATURE
:
A core temperature of 40°C (104°F) or higher.
Altered Mental State: Confusion, slurred speech, delirium, agitation, or seizures.
ALTERED SWEATING:
The skin feels hot and dry to the touch (classic heat stroke), or you may suddenly stop sweating even when too hot.
RAPID HEART & BREATHING RATES:
A racing heart or rapid, shallow breathing.Fainting or Loss of Consciousness:
HEAT EXHAUSTION
vs
MIGRAINE:
If your symptoms are limited to head pain, nausea, and dizziness, it could be heat exhaustion or a heat-induced migraine.
If you can cool down, find shade, and drink fluids, these symptoms should start to resolve within 30 minutes.
For a breakdown of the differences between these conditions, you can read the Mayo Clinic Heat Exhaustion Guide or the NHS Heatstroke Overview.
If you are experiencing a headache right now:
Do you have a high temperature or feel confused?
Are you experiencing any nausea or dizziness?
How long have you been exposed to the heat?
Knowing these details helps determine if it's an emergency or requires immediate cooling down.
