In memory of Andy Smith | OISĂN GAA Manchester 08/07/2026

The Lancashire county board wishes to pay our respects to Andy Smith. Our thoughts go out to his wife Carolyn and family at this very sad time.

Andy was a stalwart of OisĂn GAA Manchester over a long period of time serving recently as Chairperson and 2026 Club President.

He oversaw a significant amount of success with the club, who won 4 Lancashire SFCs titles in a row (2017-2020).

Oisin’s grounds at Old Bedians which were always presented in magnificent condition was acknowledged on many football and hurling championship final days, Andy was a driving force behind this.

It was wonderful to see Andy recently at the Northern Games at our new pitch development at Broughton Park. Andy was also an integral member of original committee for the new county grounds which laid the foundations for what we have today.

Oisins have written an excellent piece on there website in his memory titled “A Lasting Oisin’s legacy’.
