Our second signing of the day is João Silva ✍🏻

João signs from Guiseley AFC where he made 40 appearances and scored in both games against the Tigers last season.

He's also won five caps for São Tomé and Príncipe. 🇸🇹

On signing the winger Cleggy said "He caused problems for us last year for Guiseley and it was one of the most impressive performances from a winger I’ve seen in a while.

We didn’t think he’d become available because we knew he was under contract at Guiseley. But then we got wind he was coming over to Manchester this summer, and travel was a problem for him, so we were straight in on it and we got the deal done very early.

He’s going to be very exciting, and we’re delighted to have him in. He looks delighted to be here too, so we’re buzzing with that.”

It’s welcome back to striker James Kirby. James made his debut for the Tigers back in 2013 after coming through the academy.

After spells in Sweden and Malta he now joins up with the Tigers again.

Kirby said "After five years abroad I'm now looking for a new challenge back in the UK and Cleggy is someone I know well and I'm raring to go"

Cleggy said "We kept in touch while he’s been over in Scandinavia. In terms of his profile, he’s an old-fashioned number nine. He runs the channels, he’s big and strong, he scores goals, he’s brave, he’s good with his back to goal, he presses well, and he’s good at running in behind. Above all else, he’s a top, top guy and a good teammate, so we’re absolutely delighted to have him.
He’s coming at a great age. He’s coming here to score goals, and he still wants to make a name for himself in England.”

NEW SIGNING ✍🏻

We are delighted to secure the signing of dynamic midfielder Mo Wassa from Darwen FC.

The 21-year-old had previously been with Route One Rovers and has impressed in the North West Counties this season.

Mo said "I can’t wait to get going, it’s a new challenge for me and I'm raring to go”.

Manager Michael Clegg said "Mo is someone I’ve had an eye on for a while, he’s someone we’ve watched four or five times, I like his personality and it will be interesting to see how he makes the step up and he could be a little gem for us!”

Away fixtures against Macclesfield, Prestwich and Abbey Hey.

Home games against higher league opposition in AFC Fylde and Chester.

We will also compete for the Keith Trudgeon Memorial Trophy against Stalybridge Celtic at Bower Fold before rounding off at home to Coleshill Town for the Ray Stanley Memorial Shield! 🐯

Pre season fixture announcement 📢

Our first fixture of pre-season will take place on Saturday 4th July when we visit Macclesfield FC with a 3pm kick off.

We can announce our first pre-season fixture.

We will be visiting Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday 18th July with a 3pm kick off as we compete for the Keith Trudgeon Trophy.
