The reported attendance of around 1.5 million people at Arsenal's trophy parade yesterday highlights not only the incredible passion that football generates, but also the scale of the safety operation required to support such an event.

While the focus is rightly on the celebrations, occasions like this are a reminder of the vital role played by safety officers, stewards, emergency services, local authorities and operational partners behind the scenes.

Managing crowds of this size in a public environment requires extensive planning, strong communication and excellent teamwork.

At the FSOA, we understand the dedication and professionalism needed to deliver safe and successful events.

Whether in a stadium or on city streets, the principles remain the same – protecting people and creating an environment where supporters can enjoy memorable occasions safely.

A big thank you to everyone who attended our South East Regional Meeting at Leyton Orient Football Club yesterday.

A special thanks to Craig Witham for his host duties and to the club for providing a great venue and hospitality for the meeting.

It was another excellent opportunity for safety professionals, partners and industry colleagues to come together, share experiences and discuss the latest developments across our industry.

We’d also like to our sponsors for their spotlight presentations and continued support.

Please also note, there has been a change of date for our North West Regional Meeting.

Due to a Premier League Conference on June 30th, the meeting will now be held on July 7th at Avro Football Club.

Congratulations to Burradon & New Fordley on winning the Northumberland FA Benevolent Bowl Final at St Peter’s Hub.

Having been runners-up last season, Burradon showed great resilience before Taylor Smith broke the deadlock with 25 minutes remaining. Robert Ridley then added a second goal to secure the trophy and complete a memorable evening.

The match also saw both sides forced into early goalkeeper changes, adding another unusual twist to an entertaining final played in front of a great atmosphere at the home of Northumberland County FA.

The victory caps off a terrific season for Burradon & New Fordley, who add the Benevolent Bowl to their league title and another cup success to complete a fantastic treble-winning campaign.

A big thank you to Andrew Rose-Cook and everyone at Northumberland FA for their hospitality and for hosting another excellent final at St Peter’s Hub.

We look forward to returning again next year.

Today marks nine years since the Manchester Arena terrorist attack.

We remember the 22 lives lost and stand with their families, survivors, first responders and everyone affected by that tragic night.

You will always be remembered.

It’s a powerful reminder of why safety must always come first, and of our collective duty to protect public spaces and all who gather in them.
