BOBBY’S STAG DOO!
One of the highlights of the year so far. Big congrats B! Roll on the wedding! Great to see so many of the boys in great shape. What was their secret?

5 TOP TIPS TO GET THAT HOLIDAY BOD!

1. Start working on yourself early 12 weeks minimum.

2. Be consistent with your training. Keeping to a structured training plan.

3. Eat clean, the cheats aren’t worth it. If you’re looking to reduce fat or lose weight make sure you’re in a calorie deficit and have the right macros for your lifestyle.

4. Train HARD!! Push yourself to your max and ensure you cover all body parts. Work your core a minimum of 3 times per week. Get a couple sneaky sessions in while away.

5. Enjoy the process and be accountable. The more you can enjoy it then the more likely you are to stay in shape after the event.

Once on holiday! Enjoy yourself and go wild. That’s the reason you’ve worked so hard. Be mindful but live and indulge.

BIG SHOUT OUT TO KATIE!!
Congratulations on your first wedding anniversary and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I remember when Katie first became a member at the gym and from day one she had such a positive energy. This girl came on a mission to get fitter and change her lifestyle. Since lockdown, like so many others lots of Katie’s plans for her wedding and mission had to change but did that stop her? No chance!! Miss consistent just stepped up a gear, trained harder, more frequently and adapted to the change. Fast forward to today I can’t believe how super fit, fast, strong and fearless you are!

You have been an absolute pleasure to have train and deserve all the amazing results you have achieved!

WHAT A TUESDAY TRANSFORMATION - I wanted to share Eleanor’s journey with you as this girl has been such an inspiration and is a great example for anyone who struggles with self confidence, self belief, “diets”, exercise or anyone who self sabotages.

GOALS - Eleanor’s goals where simple. She had put on some weight during lockdown felt sluggish and unfit so she wanted to get fitter and feel better. What I loved about this is that her goals were completely intrinsically driven.
She wasn’t a big fan of exercise but was, and I highlight, COMMITTED to achieving her goals.

TRAINING - we agreed on 2 PT sessions per week and Eleanor highlighted she wouldn’t do anything physically outside of those two sessions.

NUTRITION - We set a nutritional plan to suits Eleanor’s lifestyle. This was an area she was happy to explore and get right.

We focussed mainly on strength training as Eleanor wasn’t a big fan of cardio or HIIT training. Towards the end of each session I sneakily stepped up the pace to get her heart rate going and she actually started enjoying it just as much.

RESULTS
Like I said earlier Eleanor’s goals were intrinsically driven so she didn’t want to do any before and after pictures but she liked hearing the measurement results. See below

TO TRAIN OR NOT TO TRAIN?

Had such a mixed reaction from my story about me training in the gym on hols. The question should we train whilst on holiday came up..

Answer.. All depends on your goals and the purpose of the holiday.
There was a time where I’d be training everyday when away, however this time I wanted a break, time to relax, switch off and recharge. Away for 7 days and hit the gym 3 times. Why? Because I enjoy training and it’s as a lifestyle choice. It gives me that boost of energy and these days I don’t get the chance to train as much as I’d like back home due to a busy lifestyle, so training on holiday for me is perfect. Other benefits, a chance to burn off some those cocktails, pizzas and other treats.

Other days, I relax, walk, swim, get massages, water sports or do absolutely nothing. Whatever the mood sets. The important thing is to make sure there’s no pressure. If you want to train then train, if not then don’t lol!

After having a week off, I highly suggest if you can get away pleeeease do!! Just to recharge and empty your cup 😎

DOES FEAR HOLD YOU BACK?

Everyone has fear. Even people who seem to have it all together are scared at least some of the time. To stop living in fear, you must understand the underlying psychology so that you can actively work against it.

There are so many ways of dealing with fear and it takes time and practice. Here are my top 3 ways I approach fear when it arises.

1. BE FULLY PRESENT
When we’re living in fear, we’re often also living in either the past or the future. We let our past mistakes haunt us and affect our future decisions. We live in so much fear of what could happen that we forget to enjoy what is happening. The past doesn’t equal the future unless we live in it. Look at what is actually happening now, in this present moment, take the leap and learn.

2. TO FAIL IS TO LEARN
Fear of failure stops so many people from even starting. Most of us have been there.. We never really fail, we learn. Adopt a growth mindset and seek to learn your way to the top or to hit your goal. Every time ask yourself what you learned and how to improve for the next time. The aim is to start and not give up.

3. FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY
like the book by . The amount of times I’ve been scared of doing something but have dived in and then dealt with the consequences. Whether it’s public speaking, lifting a personal best weight, starting something new. It’s scary at first but soon that fear goes once you take that first step. Be brave and take that step!

START YOUR WEEK STRONG.
Set your goals
Plan your workouts
Plan your meals

Then stay consistent. Sometimes things happen that are out of our control that knock us off balance BUT it’s all about how we respond. Rather than spiral out of control get back on track by getting back in balance. Work twice as hard which will lead to you finishing the week stronger than you started.

Use this momentum into the next week to then build a foundation to achieving your goals.
