🏏 Under 15s — Presentation 🏏
Firstly, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank every parent of the players in this squad for your continued support throughout the season — for getting the lads to and from games and training sessions, and most importantly, for trusting Karl and me to lead and develop the team to the best of our abilities.
Our Under 15s have experienced a challenging season, coming up against some very established U15 sides with talented players. It’s important to recognise that this has been something of a transition year for our squad, with the majority of our players still being U13 and U14.
While our win/loss record may not look as impressive when compared with some of the other age groups at the club, it was an improvement on last season — and as coaches, that progression is ultimately what we ask for.
The biggest frustration this season was that we were competitive in every game, but we rarely managed to put both sides of our game together in the same match. There were occasions where we batted exceptionally well but didn’t quite produce with the ball or in the field, and other games where our bowling and fielding were excellent but we struggled to put runs on the board. Against good opposition, those inconsistencies will always be punished.
However, there have been plenty of positives to take. The experience gained this year, combined with the number of players who have had the opportunity to play some form of adult cricket, should put this group in a fantastic position moving forward. Hopefully, that additional experience and confidence will allow us to compete for trophies next season and beyond.
For now, the squad deserves a well-earned break. Enjoy some time away from cricket, recharge the batteries and then we’ll head into winter nets ready to work hard, improve and come back stronger.
Well done to every single player for your efforts throughout the season. You should all be proud of the progress you’ve made. 👏🏏
🏆 Individual Award Winners
⭐️Batting Award — Parker
Parker has impressed with both bat and ball throughout the season, but it is with the bat where his game has excelled most.
Opening the batting alongside several different partners throughout the season, while also taking on the responsibility of captaining the side, Parker has been the one constant who consistently delivered when his team needed him.
One of my personal highlights of the season was his outstanding innings against Bolton Indians at home, where he retired on 40 from just 20 balls* — a superb display of attacking cricket!
⭐️Bowling Award — Ajar
Another player who has impressed with both bat and ball this season, Ajar has been particularly valuable with the ball when the team has found itself under pressure.
Ajar has a huge amount of variety in his bowling, constantly keeping batters guessing about what is coming next. He never allows them to settle and makes them work hard for every run.
When we have needed someone to break up a partnership or provide that important breakthrough, Ajar has consistently stepped up with valuable wickets.
⭐ Coaches’ Player — Roman
Roman’s personality is infectious and makes him a hugely valuable member of any team.
He simply loves playing cricket and always has a smile on his face, whether he is batting, bowling or fielding. That enthusiasm and positive attitude are exactly what you want to see from a young cricketer.
On top of that, Roman finished second in our batting tally and joint-second in our bowling tally, demonstrating just how much of an impact he has had across the season.
⭐️Parents’ Player — Carter
For the third consecutive season, Carter has picked up the Parents’ Player award for his respective age group — an outstanding achievement in itself.
Carter won the award by a landslide, with parents highlighting not only his performances on the field but, more importantly, the way he interacts with both teammates and opposition.
He consistently plays the game in the right spirit, supports and helps newer players develop, and has become a natural leader within the group.
Those leadership qualities will be put to the test next season as Carter takes over the captaincy from Parker — a responsibility we know he will embrace.
Congratulations to all of our award winners, and well done to the entire U15 squad on your efforts throughout 2026.
The foundations are there. Now it’s time to build on them. 💪🏏
