Weather looks variable, we’ll get wet, then dry out and get wet again, hopefully dry by the finish😂

Lots of ups and downs, stunning scenery and challenging times ahead. So looking forward to it !

In the 2022 edition of the Silk Road Mountain Race we topped out at a smidge over 4000m on Jiptik Pass. A route that had been open to motor vehicles just a week before. When the landslide occurred it denied them the second picture view of the snow covered Lenin Peak at 7,134m. It was a chill wind.

By the time we descended and joined others camped a few k on in the valley we had been moving for over 24 hours.

There’s always someone watching on the Mountain Races. The riders are split up into small groups and divided among the remote Dotwatchers. All over the world they watch to keep us safe, watching for irregular patterns that may indicate a problem.

The funny thing is when we push a tandem to 4000m it takes a bit of time. When most others are sleeping we are rolling and pushing along the route. We still need to be kept an eye on and we’re usually in it til the end.

Spare a thought for our Dotwatchers as they may get as little sleep as us over the next 2 weeks in Türkiye

This Velo Orange Polyvalent is indeed Super Yummy

Final big shakedown ride before we head to Türkiye for the first edition of the Ta**us Mountain Race - in 14 days we’ll be in the air.

Started early and cold so that’s a bonus. Nothing fell off and except for a couple of last minute swaps we’re good to go.

So that’s a heads up, in 2 weeks we’ll be closed for two weeks, get in if you need owt. Last day is the 10th October.

We’re so stoked for this trip 😎 1460k and thirty something thousand metres of climbing ( and descending!! ) over max. 10 days. Just our bag.

Looking forward to catching up with our Mountain Races Family 😍
