Great events from Manchester and District Orienteering Club for families this summer 👇

Summer is in full swing, and so is our Summer Park MapRun Series, as we head to Bruntwood Park in Cheadle for event 8 on Saturday 25th July. A park consisting of open fields, strips of woodland and even a golf course and BMX park, what better place to come along to and have your first go at orienteering!

Once again we’ll have a choice of 3 short courses on offer, and you can navigate your way around as many as you want, starting anytime between 11am and 2pm. They will be suitable for all ages and abilites, and great fun for families, small groups and individuals alike. Walk, run or race - the choice is yours!

These events will also make use of MapRun - a free app that will be used to track your progress around the courses (you will require your smartphone in order to do this).

Entries are £6 for adults and £3 for juniors. A busy first few days for our Outdoor Holiday Club! Monday was filled with frisbee golf, lots of games and cooking a delicious meal of veggie pasta and sauce. Yum! 😋🍝

Our Bronze Open The Duke of Edinburgh's Award groups had a great training session on Tuesday where everyone got organised into their teams ready for expedition. They then learned navigation skills and practiced with maps exploring around the park.

Some yummy food cooked by our Adventure Club last week 🥘. Pasta and a sauce packed with veggies 🍅🥕🫑 all prepared and cooked by the group. Great life skills learned and delicious food eaten round the fire.
