Oisín CLG was formed in 1904 from the Craobh Oisin Gaelic League Club which was at that time based in Gaythorn Manchester. The organisation would be the spearhead of the Gaelic revival and Gaeilgeoir activism. The formation of a Gaelic football club was an extension to the promotion of all Irish cultural activities in the city. In 2004 the club celebrated its Centenary Year and published a Book on

It is with regret we share the news of the sad passing of Noel Gallagher. Noel was from Milltown, Co.Galway and was a long time supporter of the club. In years gone by Noel sponsored our underage section, donated to various events and purchased many a table at our dinner dances. Everyone at the club would like to send our condolences to his family and friends.

As our keeper Ellen Alice heads back to the green pastures of the Orchard County, we want to wish her nothing but the very best! 🍀

Ellen first arrived as a fresh young face to stand between the sticks of the Oisín nets, minding them ferociously over the years. From the successful days of winning All-Britain and playing in an All-Ireland quarter-final, with many a league title to her name, to some of the more unsuccessful days where her back was nearly broken having to pick the ball out of the net that many times 😂 — she always turned up ready to literally throw her body at anything!
If you had the pleasure of playing in front of Ellen, you were guaranteed to get a few reminders about marking your player… whether you wanted them or not! 😂
While she may be leaving us with a few extra frown lines, we’ll certainly miss hearing those positive “GET ON YOUR MARKER and MOVE!” shouts from the goals!
Ellen, thank you for everything you’ve given to Oisíns over the years. You’ve been an absolute brilliant teammate and a massive part of the club.

We’ll miss you, but we wish you all the best of luck ☘️!

We asked Ellen to tell us a bit about her time at oisíns have a read:

It’s been an absolute privilege to be part of the Oisín community for the past 7 years. I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside so many brilliant groups of girls, making some amazing memories and, most importantly, meeting friends for life.

A highlight will always be 2019, when we won the Junior All-Britain, giving us the opportunity to travel to Maastricht and qualify for the All-Ireland Junior Quarter Final. As well as lots of days celebrating Lancashire Junior and Intermediate success (and many nights celebrating!)

Oisín has been such a massive part of my life in Manchester, and while I’m devastated to be leaving, I’m so proud to have been part of this club and group of girls 💙🤍

Everyone at oisín clg would like to wish Chloé Ní Lochlainn all the very best as she leaves Manchester . Chloe sets off to London to start another exciting chapter with her partner!

Chloe has being with the club for a number of years and has a massive impact in the forward line , and will be a huge loss to Oisins both on and off the pitch.

We asked Chloe to tell us about her time at Oisins have a read :
“When I first started at Oisíns , the squad had a reputation for being machines. A serious team that put in the extra minutes to achieve damn special wins.

However, that reputation didn't fully fit, the thing I'll most miss is the camaraderie. Throughout the years loads of girls come and go, but what makes this club special is the warm welcome you'll always get.

Oisín's will always be my home club and hold a very special place in my heart and memories 💙”

We wish Chloe every success in this exciting new chapter 💪🏼🥹
