When you pull up at the petrol station, you’ve got two choices—standard fuel or the premium, high-performance option that helps your car run smoother and more efficiently.

It’s the exact same with food.

Yes, you can eat the right number of calories and lose weight—just like your car can run on standard fuel. But if you want to feel better, perform better, and have more energy, the quality of your fuel matters.

Let’s say 1500 kcal is your deficit. You can eat 1500 kcal of fast food and lose weight OR 1500 kcal of whole, high-quality foods like lean meats, fruit, veg, and whole grains—and still lose weight.

The difference? How you feel, perform, and recover.

So yes, staying in a calorie deficit is the priority. But once you’ve got that checked off, the next step is upgrading your food choices to fuel your body like a high-performance machine.

A very common mistake I hear all the time

❌ “I’m eating healthy.”
✅ Great! So, are you tracking your calories?
❌ “No, I’m just eating healthy.”
Here’s the truth:
🚹 You can overeat “healthy” food and gain weight.
🚹 You can under-eat “unhealthy” food and lose weight.
Not tracking your food is like shooting at a target in the dark—you might hit it, but chances are, you won’t.
If you’re serious about changing your physique, you need to track everything—from your lifts to your calories. It’s the only way to truly understand what’s working and what’s not.

Imagine there was a pill that gave you more energy, reduced stress, put you in a better mood, and even made you look better when taken consistently
 Sounds incredible, right?

Well, that pill already exists—it’s called exercise.

Yet, when people say they “don’t have time” for it, I can’t help but think
 how can you afford NOT to?

Because the alternative?
❌ Low energy
❌ Out of shape
❌ Low confidence
❌ Weak immune system

If there was a magic pill that did all this, everyone would take it. The truth is, you just have to show up.

If you’re not losing fat, it’s usually down to one of THESE reasons:

❌ Underestimating Calories – You think you’re in a deficit, but are you actually tracking properly?

❌ Not Enough Daily Movement (NEAT) – The gym is only 5-10% of your daily burn. Are you moving enough outside of workouts?

❌ Too Many Weekend Blowouts – Being on track Mon-Fri means nothing if you’re eating double on Sat-Sun.

❌ Poor Sleep & High Stress – These impact hunger hormones, cravings, and recovery, making fat loss much harder.

Audit yourself, adjust where needed, and be honest about what’s holding you back!

**It’s February—the time when most people start falling off track.**

Why? Because motivation **fades**, and solid habits **weren’t built properly**. That **“shiny new program” excitement** has worn off
 and reality kicks in.

Here’s the truth: **It’s supposed to be hard.** If it were easy, everyone would do it.

Instead of giving up, try this:

✅ **Set small, achievable goals for February** – Aim for **12 gym sessions** this month

✅ **Follow your routine, even on low-motivation days** – Just **turn up**

✅ **Remember your “why”** – Pain points drive change. Ask yourself: *“How will I feel this summer if I quit now?”*

Motivation won’t always be there, but discipline will keep you moving forward.

Eat well, exercise, get them out - all that good stuff!

Happy New Year! 🎉 Let’s take on 2025 with purpose and focus!

I’ve been quiet on social media over the holidays, and it’s been a much-needed reset. 2024 was a fantastic year – my 13th in the fitness industry – and brought some incredible milestones:

✅ Signed with a new rugby team 🏉
✅ Helped clients achieve amazing transformations đŸ’Ș
✅ Reached new heights with my online training service 🚀
✅ And, yes, I hit the big 3-0! 🎂

I’ve always loved the New Year – the opportunity to set new goals, reflect on progress, and plan for growth. With big plans ahead, more client transformations in the pipeline, and personal development to continue, I’m ready to embrace all that 2025 has to offer.

Here’s to making consistent progress, celebrating wins (big or small), and focusing on becoming better every day.
