U7’s (Warriors) Match Report 🐲⚽️🔰

Unsworth V Collyhurst (Cobalts)

Frustrating start from our standards (regardless of being 2-0 to the good early on), we just didn’t get going, lost battles, didn’t win races and rushed decisions which occurred for the first 25 minutes. At half time we found ourselves 5-2 down.

While the other team competed well, I felt all the way through we were the stronger group and we demonstrated this much more in the final 25 minutes with a higher level of competitiveness and quality. The boys worked so hard to keep the opponents in their own half for long periods, setting traps well, stealing the ball, racing away in 2’s and 3’s and it was here where we scored some very good individual and team goals which they should be really proud of.

Great game in the end, which is what we want. Although a good number of goals for Collyhurst were from our own doing at times we have to give credit to them for making it a tough game. We did excellently to turn the game around and claw all our way back only to run out of time. We had many more attempts on goal but Collyhurst had a fantastic, very brave GK otherwise I think we’d have had much more joy.

U9’s (Jaguars) Match Report 🐲⚽️🔰

Unsworth V JPS Lightning

Jaguars on the wrong end of the score for their last game of the season.

We had a couple of players missing and were a bit disjointed as a result but fair play to JPS they played some nice attacking football and were clinical when they got chances.

Joshua got us a consolation goal. Remy and Jack both had decent stints in goal but as a team we never really got going today.

MOM Lincoln played well across a number of positions.
BE Cyrus defended really well and always a danger from set pieces.

With thanks to our sponsors Champion Professional Risks and to our supporters. We go again and start preparing for next season.

Up the Jaguars 🔰🐆🔰

U9’s (Dragons) Match Report 🐲⚽️🔰

Unsworth V Milnrow (Eagles)

Another great game to watch on Hillock this morning against opposition we haven’t played before.

For the second week in a row we found ourselves chasing the game at the break despite dominating and hitting the woodwork a couple of times.

Second half we were chasing a two goal deficit. We managed to get level before a wonderful goal from Jack from distance into the top corner to give us another narrow win.

Goals today from

⚽️⚽️Jack
⚽️Tommy
⚽️Riyad
⚽️Rawen

All 5 goals were superb, a mix of individual efforts and some well worked team goals.

Player of the Match 🏆 John

Covered for us at the back while we pressed for goals to get the win and some great distribution of the ball.

Reffed by Lincoln who had a solid game - well in control and clear decision making.

Dragons sign off the season with 3 wins on the bounce ✅✅✅

U13s (Bess) Match Report 🐲⚽️🔰

Unsworth 3 - 2 Junior Hoops

Started off with 10 and went 1 nil down! We had to win to keep our season alive! A few firm words at half time and a bag of popping candy got the boys going! Zaiden Richards with a Header ⚽️ 1 - 1 then MC rolled out of bed 🛌 and made it 2 - 1 ⚽️ well done, son! The Bees started to get sore legs, the Hoops pulled it back to 2-2. We went for it, 3 at the back, then Finnley Denney came and got the winner ⚽️ back to a back 4, a nervous ending, but the boys grafted together to keep the season alive! Well done to all the boys playing with injuries! We never give up!

U10’s (Warriors) Lift the Blue Cup! 🐲⚽️🔰🏆

Blue Cup Champions League Final

Radcliffe Jnrs (Rattlers) 0-1 Unsworth

What can I say… wow. This was the biggest game of the season – and the biggest match Unsworth Warriors have ever played in. Before kick-off, we told the lads to go out, play their football, and enjoy every minute. Don’t come off that pitch with regrets – leave absolutely everything out there. And they didn’t disappoint.

First Half

We started brightly, controlling the ball and playing some unreal football in our first ever League Cup Final. The passing was sharp, movement off the ball was perfect, and we looked dangerous every time we went forward. Then, five minutes before half-time – magic. Kaileb pushed the ball out in front of him and unleashed a thunderbolt of a strike. The second it left his boot, we all knew exactly where it was going. 1-0 Warriors – and that’s how the first half ended.

We played so well in the first 25 that the team talk at the break was simple: “Keep doing exactly what you’re doing.”

Second Half

We picked up where we left off, but as the clock ticked down, nerves and tension started to creep in. We panicked a little on the ball, and the easy pass wasn’t always there – but give the boys massive credit. When we didn’t have the ball, we defended like heroes, throwing bodies on the line and blocking everything Radcliffe threw at us.

Then, finally – that final whistle. A huge sigh of relief from the coaches, and pure joy for the team. They’ve done it, and they deserve every bit of this win. They’ve been unreal all season, and we couldn’t be prouder.

A massive thank you to all the parents who ferry them to training and matches in all weather, and to everyone who came to support us today. This trophy is for you too.

UP THE WARRIORS!

🌟 Player of the Match & Individual Performances

- Mason: Kept a clean sheet when it mattered most, making some vital, strong saves.

- Adam: Unbeatable in the challenge – don’t remember him losing a single 50/50 all game.

- Kaileb: Reads the game better than anyone, and scored that unbelievable match-winning goal.

- Theo: Brilliant passing all day, and battled harder than ever.

- Mikey: Neat and tidy throughout; in the second half he constantly pulled his marker out of position, creating space for our wingers and strikers.

- Harry: Works tirelessly to win possession, and stepped up to finish the game in defence.

- Seb: A nightmare for the opposition defenders – big, strong, and rapid.

- Ben: Dominant and strong, won every 50/50 he went for.
