We are delighted to announce that Joe Berks has agreed to join West.

The midfielder came through the ranks at Port Vale before spells at Stafford Rangers, Hednesford Town and most recently at Mossley.

Joint Manager Lee Rick sees the 25 year old as a key signing as we build our squad for the new season, “Joe brings a wealth of quality and experience to the squad having competed at step 4 level over the past few seasons. He is a player I have worked with before and someone I know will not only raise the quality of the group but the standards and mentality. He is comfortable is a number of positions, possesses excellent technical ability and will be a real asset to the group.”

Joe told us, “I saw how well the club were supported at the Macron Cup Final and everything I’ve heard about the club has been great. I’ve spoken to Lee and Steve and their plans really align with what I want to achieve. I’ve played with Lee before and he really helped my game so he was a big factor in me joining the club.”

We are delighted to announce the signing of right back Joel Igwenwanne to West.

The 21 year old grew up in Germany before moving to the UK and joining the youth setup at Sheffield United. Since then he has played at Mossley, Wythenshawe Town, Glossop North End and Avro.

Lee Rick told us, “Joel is someone we identified as a key target early. Having made a number of appearances in a step 4 promotion winning side last season, he will not only bring quality but winning mentality and high standards to the group. He has all the attributes to establish himself as one of the leagues standout players in his position.”

Joel is looking forward to getting started at West, “I’m delighted to be here. I spoke with the managers and their ambitions to build a winning team that achieves promotion are exciting and meet my needs.”

We are delighted to announce James Hodges as our latest signing.

James has established himself as one of the standout goalkeepers at this level earning a number of impressive individual accolades along the way.

He made 6 appearances for West under manager Steve Settle and has also played for Hyde United, Chester, Stockport Georgians, Tadcaster Albion and most recently Cheadle Town.

James told us, “The club didn’t need much selling to me. I’ve played against West a few times for Cheadle Town and I’ve always been impressed by the amount of people who follow West and how loud they are. In my career I’ve always been looking to reach the next level and I believe we’ve got a great chance of reaching step 4 here.”

Lee Rick believes James will be a key signing, “James has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers at this level. Having worked with him previously, I know first-hand the quality, professionalism and standards he brings both on and off the pitch.”

We are delighted to announce the return of Markell Foulds to West. Markell made 83 appearances in his first spell with the club becoming a fans’ favourite at Brookburn Road.

He told us, “It feels good to be home and I’m excited to make some more memories here. I want to win the league here and get back playing at Step 4. Lee and Steve didn’t need to sell their plan to me, I know the club and the fanbase.”

Join manager Lee Rick is excited to get the signing over the line, telling us, “From my first conversation with Markell, it was clear how much he enjoyed his previous spell at the club and how keen he was to return and help drive the club forward. Since his previous spell here, he has gained valuable experience playing Step 4 level and we are confident he returns with not only high quality but experience and professionalism to raise the standards both on and off the pitch.”

With the 2025/26 season over, we would like to communicate to supporters an update on our Men’s First Team squad.

Victor Abadaki, Lewis Billingsley, Brandon Dawson, Billy Matthews, Calum McGlynn, Tom Murray, Kenyatta Mwaliteta, Chris Rowney and Young Player of the Year Latiq Roberts will report back for training on June 20th.

Dougie Blight, Lee Jackson, Adam Jones, Jake Kenny, Ollie Martin, Jack McConnell, Jimmy Moore, Ayo Quadri and Harvey Roberts have all left West. Thanks for your contributions and all the very best for the future.

Ben Elliott, the club’s all-time top scorer in semi-professional football, has signed for Warrington Town in the NPL Premier Division. Good luck, Benji!

Sean Moscrop, who swept up the Players’, Manager’s and Supporters’ awards at the End of Season presentation, has also decided to leave West this week. All the best, Sean!
