Not seen a goal scoring midfielder at Carrington like this since Jimmy Garner decided to randomly start banging them in every week.

Jimmy Garner is a really intriguing prospect. He has a unique size & stiffness (?) to his game as a #10 which makes him look a lot less effective than he actually is.

Bit like Bellingham in that sense - not a comp to his overall game.

😬 Manchester United haven’t beaten Bournemouth since MAY 2023, when Casemiro scored the winner in a 1-0 victory.

Since then:

❌ 2 defeats
🤝 4 draws
✅ 0 wins

Over THREE YEARS without a win against the Cherries 🍒

Can United FINALLY end that run tomorrow, Reds? 👀🔴

Senne Lammens on differences from last season to this for :

“Last season I felt like playing-wise maybe we played better this season, but last season everything just clicked and went the right way for us.

We struggled as a team together when they pressed us, but we didn't concede that many goals.

We did really well, but you also know, I think everybody knew that we had to improve as well from that & that teams were going to change the way they played against us, so that's why we had to evolve this season.

I think we need a little bit more like
last season, the way we fought together, even when it wasn't going the best, and just trying to fight as a team and defend as a team, I think that's probably something we need to try to get back to.” [DanyalHKhan]

🚨🚨| NEW: Jason Wilcox is sympathetic to Michael Carrick’s plight, recognising that a restricted summer window has only been compounded by a spate of injuries.

One insider stressed Wilcox was limited by budgets set by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the overarching Glazer family’s legacy debt.

🗣️ Marco Rose (Bournemouth manager): “I think they [Manchester United] are going to be ANGRY.

“They're going to be INTENSE. We have to face it, make an open game of it and, at the end, we want to win it.

“You always get to a point where you have nothing to lose any more, sometimes as a manager, as a club, as players. That's why it's always difficult.

“We just have to be ready and anyway we have to react to the situations we get into in the game. We have to start well, we have to keep the energy, we have to keep the confidence, whatever happens, because it's a difficult stadium to play in.”
