πŸ’₯ The Demolition of Belle Vue Has Begun πŸ’₯

For those of us who spent a considerable amount of time working to save Belle Vue, its sad to report that its demolition has begun.

The campaign was successful in breaking the development for 6 months whilst a buyer was found but ultimately failed because of the effect of Covid and nobody from the dog world seeing and appreciating the massive potential of Belle Vue 😒😑

GOVERNMENT REJECT REQUEST TO CALL IN APPLICATION

It was always going to be a Hail Mary opportunity, but before the end we wanted to ask the Secretary of state Robert Jenrick, to call in the application.
We have today heard that our request has been rejected.
In short, from the start of our campaign, disappointingly authorities at all levels have been in favour of the proposed development.
In conclusion, sporting arenas such as Belle Vue are always going to be at risk from developers who see venues as cheap sites for housing and the like.
We have seen this from Wimbledon through to Belle Vue.
Until sports governing bodies come together, this threat will sadly remain.

STRONG CAMPAIGN ENDS IN DISAPPOINTMENT

The team achieved so much including being open for an extra year and engineering a chance to buy the stadium, but with the devastation of Covid-19, ultimately our efforts have ended in disappointment.

Our thanks to everyone who supported us.

Are We Going to Find a Buyer at the 11th Hour?

Having worked so hard to get the opportunity, it will be incredibly frustrating to the team, if we don't get this over the line.

Sadly, crowd funding is not a viable option given the plans of the land owners.

Time is fast running out. If anybody is interested, NOW is the time to get in touch πŸ™

πŸ’₯ We Cannot Afford to Lose This Rare Opportunity πŸ’₯

Having miraculously engineered an opportunity through hard graft where the planned development has been halted, Belle Vue Stadium is up for sale.

Those of us working to save the 'Old Lady' can only do so much before others need to step in.

After 18 months of being told we were wasting our time, as nothing could stop the development, it will be both incredibly frustrating and disappointing if between motor sport and the greyhounds we don't get this over the line.

The clock is ticking. If anybody is interested, NOW is the time to get in touch πŸ™

Reply from Sports Minister

Through our friends in Westminster, we heard today from the sports minister Nigel Huddlestone.

As always, these things take time behind the scenes to bring together.

We do ask that you bear with us.

Just because we've been quiet publicly for a while, we are still working extremely hard, chasing down every lead to save Belle Vue.

In the meantime our petition is still open for you to have your voice heard πŸ‘‰ www.change.org/p/save-belle-vue-stadium

πŸ’₯ Frustration Grows with MCC Leader πŸ’₯

As we write we still have not received any reply from Sir Richard Leese, the leader of Manchester City Council.

When Mayor Andy Burnham said he 'couldn't' help, instead he asked us to write to Sir Richard.

As you can imagine we've chased by email and phone repeatedly but to no avail.

Yesterday we re-sent our full correspondence over to City Hall marked for your Sir Richard's attention.

Once again we are extremely frustrated but remain equally determined.
