Good news !

We have a few bikes ready to rent tomorrow, see below! As usual we’ll be open 5-7pm Monday so come early to avoid disappointment as we expect these to go very quickly.

Just a reminder, We will be open TUESDAY 10th at 5pm for rentals!

We intend to open every MONDAY after this date for repairs!

Hello!

Good news, it’s bike time. We will be open from 5PM TUESDAY 10th in the SU basement ready to rent out bikes! We have less than last year with currently 10-12 ready to go and another 15-20 waiting in parts and servicing that will be released when they’re ready. So, if you want to rent you’ll need to bring a £50 cash deposit, your student card and the amount of cash that you expect to need for the time you want to rent. It’s £1 a week so till the end of the academic year it will be £35. Unlike last year, we will be taking payment up front but of course if you’d like to return early, this will be logged and we can refund you the difference.

Bikes will be rented first come first served at the workshop so arrive early/on time to avoid disappointment. We usually get 3/4x as many people come as there are bikes so unfortunately, you may be unsuccessful but it’s always worth a try. We have more bikes coming before Christmas though so if you don’t get one this time there will be more chances. All of our bikes are different sizes and we reserve the right to refuse rental if the bikes left will be unsafe or not fit.

As most of you know, we also offer free labour servicing and bike checks where you only pay wholesale price for the parts used. This will be carrying on this year but as rental day is usually chaos, we would advise you to come back next week for this when we’re running as normal and will have time to fix you up.

Unfortunately as per last week our insurance still hasn’t been cleared and there are a few things we need to do before reopening. Unfortunately there can’t be any rentals this week but we are 90% sure we will be able to sort this by next week. Continue to watch this space for updates and we *hope* we can see you all next week

Apologies for the late update but due to ongoing issues with our insurance providers, we are not able to offer rentals this week. We hope that this will be resolved by next week (as with last year) but keep an eye on this page for updates and I'll share the plan as soon as we have one. As usual, we are very very over-subscribed with interest for our rental scheme so we recommend coming early to avoid disappointment.

UPDATED OPENING TIMES TOMORROW

I’ve had something come up on Monday evening and will still be running the session but at the earlier time of 2-4pm instead. We’ll need all the bikes back so please return them if you can as this is the last official session of the year and the final chance before the June returns deadline. As usual if there’s any issue with this then message the page and we will see what we can do:)

Still missing 20 bikes!

Make sure to return your bike next session on Monday 26th of June as any bikes returned after this June deadline will incur late charges! Anyone with any issues returning feel free to contact us and we will do our best to sort you out. We are a volunteer run and SU funded charitable organisation and really struggle to afford new bikes so please try and get them back to us :))

We are still waiting for a lot of bikes (over half) to come back for this year so that they can be serviced ! If you have one of our bikes we will need it back by the end of June to avoid late charges. I will be in today 5-7pm if anyone can make it today.

The time of year has come again to return bikes!

The rental period comes to and end on June 10th and we need to take all the bikes back over the summer break as these need their yearly services.

Sessions for returns have been decided as the
5th and 12th of June from 4-6pm to avoid exams and give people time to do it.

Please try and make these dates and if not, message us and we will see what we can do. If you would like to return earlier than this that's also fine! We will continue our Monday sessions so just bring it in any time. If the bikes are not returned in the month of June, we will be adding a late charge as these all need to be serviced and it really delays us if bikes are not returned on time. This is nothing to worry about though and if for some reason you can't return your bike due to being abroad etc, just message us and we will try and accommodate.
