With it being half term next week for Salford/Manchester I'm thinking of putting on an afternoon sailing session on Friday 25th Feb. The session will be aimed at anyone who is RYA Stage 2 or higher. Session cost will be £25 and will run from 13.00 - 16:00, if this is something that anyone is interested in please let me know! For this to run I we will need a minimum of 4 people.

We have scheduled a Advanced Sailing 3 hour session for Thurs 26th August from 1pm-4pm. This session is aimed at those who have completed a minimum of Stage 2 and are looking to progress further!

Even though some of you haven't managed to get much sailing in at all this year the onboard fleet at the British Regional Championships is a great opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills, sail somewhere different and most importantly have FUN! This event will be taking not too far from us so i would definatly reccomend trying to get yourselves booked on.

The Anderton Centre, Chorley will play host to this years OnBoard Fun Fleet as part of the BYS Regional Junior Championships!

Ullswater YC will host to the Championship Fleet however the OnBoard Fun Fleet is a great opportunity for younger or less experienced sailors to make new friends and develop their skills through 'games with aims' – it’s just £25 per day to enter and you can do one or both days! There'll be one instructor or coach for every five children, and you don’t even have to take your own boat! 😀

Quick update on what sailing sessions we have available for you this summer. Starting on Tuesday 18th August we are going to be offering a beginner sailing afternoon from 1pm - 4pm, Thursday 20th August will be a Develop your sailing afternoon and then on Friday 21st August we will be offering an Advanced sailing afternoon(Minimum stage 3). These sessions will be running from 1pm - 4pm and will cost £20. Their will be 6 spaces available which will all be available through Eventbrite in the next few days.

We are also going to be running a RYA Powerboat Level 1 course starting on Wednesday 12th August. This course is a full day running from 10am - 4pm. This course is 90% practical on the water based looking at manoeuvres and the safe use of a powerboat. Please note their are limited spaces on this course and will also be bookable through Eventbrite. The cost will be £90 for the course.

Quick update for you all regarding where we currently are regarding getting sailing club back up and running.
We are currently in the planning of getting some sailing club sessions all booked in but are currently waiting for some more guidance from the RYA which should be released towards the back end of this week hopefully.

Hello again guys,
So even though we can't get on the water at this moment in time here is an activity you can do to refine tacking and gybing technique. All you need to complete this technique session is 2 chairs and a stick or broom handle about 1m in length. To set up all you need to do is have both chairs opposite each other and then use the stick/broom handle as the tiller extension, if you want to make it even more realistic you can even get a short bit of rope or string as then mainsheet.
