I’m SO excited to be heading to Just So Festival later this month!✨

I’ll be leading family yoga sessions on Friday and Saturday, with plenty of playful movement, laughter and connection for kids and their grown ups 💚

If you’ve never been, Just So Festival is a magical family festival packed with music, storytelling, circus, creativity and adventure! It takes place 21st - 23rd August at Rode Hall, Cheshire, and it’s set to be one of the most imaginative weekends of the summer… ✨

I’m thrilled to have been invited (thank you movewithruthie!) and can’t wait to share some yoga with my fellow festival goers. If you’re heading there, come and say hello! 🧘🏾‍♂️💫 🧘🏻‍♀️

I’ve absolutely loved spending time at The Shaw Centre In Cheetham Hill this month, sharing weekly chair and mat based yoga sessions with an incredible group of learning disabled adults 💚

So much laughter, and a group that genuinely encourages and supports one another!

Yoga offers a chance to move and open the body, breathe fuller, relax and connect, but practising together brings something really special. They have been real cheer leaders for each other and that’s been such a joy.

I was so impressed by the centre itself as well. The staff are wonderful, and the warmth, friendships and sense of community really shone!

A huge thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome. We’re now applying for National Lottery funding to continue and grow these sessions, so fingers crossed I’ll be back on a regular basis! 🤞

Some evenings just have a little magic about them... ✨

Our first evening yoga session at last week was filled with smiles, full breaths, gentle movement and the most beautiful soft summer evening light pouring through the stained glass. There was such a lovely sense of connection, with so many people coming together to pause, unwind and experience this incredible building in a completely different way.

For over a century, has been a place where people gathered to restore themselves. These yoga evenings continue that tradition, offering space to slow down, reconnect and simply be.

I’d love you to join me for one of our next sessions:

🌿 Tues 25th August
🌿 Tues 22nd September
🧘🏾‍♀️ 6.30 - 7.45pm
🧘🏻‍♀️ £15

Come and soak up the atmosphere and experience one of Manchester’s most beautiful buildings from a whole new perspective. No yoga experience required!

What a joyous way to finish my Saturday morning classes at David Lloyd Manchester Trafford. Health, Spa & Wellness Club.!
For the past year I’ve had the pleasure of sharing two early Saturday morning practices with so many kind, interesting and open hearted people 💚 It’s taught me a lot about teaching big groups and the kindness I’ve received really helped build my confidence as a teacher - thank you DL crew! 🙏🏼

It was not an easy decision to leave these classes, but with a full week and young kids I know that protecting my weekend down time is an important (actually essential!) part of looking after me, which I preach about often enough in my classes!

After I left today, heart full from our practice and good conversation in the sunshine (plus excellent coffee and kind presents!), I had to really remind myself that you don’t have to not like something anymore to move on from it. Trust your heart to know what’s right and embrace the ever changing nature of your adventures…

And hopefully I’ll be back covering yoga classes where I can in the week!

Big love 💕💕

🪴 So grateful for all the garden yoga sessions this week!☀️

We squeezed Heidi’s session in early this morning before the heat arrived, taking our yoga outside…

Working with Heidi, who has cerebral palsy, is always creative, playful and full of little moments of discovery. After she’d been feeling a bit under the weather, today was all about meeting her where she was and following her lead.

With gentle movement, breath and touch supported work, Heidi is learning to tune into the sensations in her body, building curiosity and confidence in what she feels.

Every session is different, every session brings something new… and that’s what makes this work so much fun 😊

Yoga really can and should meet you exactly wherever you are; no judgement, no pressure, no expectation 💚🙏🏼💚

✨ Yoga & Cerebral Palsy

This morning I had my second yoga session with Heidi, through , and she left me with a very full heart! 💛 Heidi has cerebral palsy, and she brings a whole heap of curiosity and humour to our sessions.

People often think of yoga as stretching or ‘exercise’, but it’s so much more than that. Together we’re exploring breath (and it’s huge power within our body!), sensory awareness, touch, sound and gentle movement to quite simply help Heidi to feel more connected to her body. Through that we’re supporting nervous system regulation and building confidence from the inside out.

Some of the biggest wins are almost invisible... A softer breath. Longer moments of stillness. A new sensation noticed. A smile that says, ‘that felt good’.

It’s a privilege to be part of that journey! I’m excited to see what unfolds over the coming weeks… 💛

Feeling stiff, stressed or in need of a proper lunchtime reset? 🌿

You don't need to be flexible or experienced. The class is suitable for beginners and those wanting a gentle, mindful practice.

Taking just 45 minutes for yourself can make a surprising difference! Think of it as pressing the reset button halfway through your Monday.

Building Body Awareness 💛

Friday lunchtime is Connor time.

One of the biggest changes I’ve seen in Connor over the last 12 months is his growing proprioception. That’s our body’s ability to sense where it is in space and how it’s moving, without needing to look. It’s a skill you probably take for granted (I know I do) but it plays a huge role in balance, coordination, confidence and feeling at home in our bodies.

Through our sessions, Connor has developed so much more awareness of his body and how it moves. It’s been one of my biggest joys to watch him become increasingly relaxed, confident and comfortable in his own body - approaching movement with curiosity and confidence - this is what yoga is all about for me!

Connor is a young man with a learning disability, autism, CTD (Creatine Transporter Deficiency) and ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder). He’s non conversational, which means he has limited words, but he communicates a lot!

Every achievement takes time, patience and really importantly for Connor, is celebrated, which makes moments like these all the more special.

What I love most though, is the energy he brings. Connor has the warmest sense of humour and a real talent for finding fun in everything we do. Every session is filled with laughter, connection and the occasional unexpected tickle from him!

A few snapshots from today’s adventures 💛

And yes, I did rock out my flamingo leggings today in protest at the days of uninterrupted rain - and it worked! Welcome back sunshine ☀️

You’re welcome.
Happy Friday,
Debs

What if yoga wasn’t about touching your toes… but how you live your life? ✨

My Monday lunchtime class at and Thursday evenings at are about more than just movement…

Did you know that yoga isn’t just the asana (the postures) - it comes from an ancient framework called the ‘Eight Limbs of Yoga’ (from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - 2,500 years old!).

And right at the beginning of the Eight Limbs are the ‘Yamas and Niyamas’.

Five of each, not rules, not something to be perfect at. But gentle guidelines to explore how we live and feel our way through these precious lives.

The yamas are about how we show up in the world (ethically, morally, socially) and we practice them in class by:

• choosing kindness over self-criticism (ahimsa - non-violence)
• being honest, without beating ourselves up (satya - truthfulness)
• loosening the grip of comparison and judgement (aparigraha - non-attachment)

The niyamas bring it inward as personal guidelines:
• finding contentment, even in the messy bits (santosha - contentment)
• showing up for yourself when motivation wobbles (tapas - discipline)
• taking moments to pause and notice what’s really going on (svadhyaya - self-study).

In class, this isn’t something I lecture on or we overthink…

It’s something you feel, through grounded movement, breath, and space to just be.

Returning to yourself. Over and over again.

Join me:

🧘🏿‍♀️Mondays, 12.15 - 1pm

🧘🏻‍♀️Thursdays, 7.15 - 8.15pm
