Maintenance Calories – The Phase Most People Skip 💪🏼
Progress isn’t always about eating less and fat loss isn’t the only measure of progress!
For the longest time ive been in maintenance and I’m now moving into a surplus. My goal this year is to build as much muscle as I can (Lowerbody mainly) and that means accepting that I might get a little softer along the way. 🫣
You can’t spend 365 days a year in a calorie deficit and expect to keep building a stronger body. A deficit can be great for a fat-loss phase, but it’s just as important to know when to step away from it.
Refuel properly. Eat enough. Lift heavy. Recover well. Give your body what it needs to build muscle, get stronger and perform at its best physically and mentally.
Remember, you can work towards a stronger, more muscular body without constantly trying to make yourself smaller.
Sometimes, progress means eating MORE, getting stronger and trusting the process. 🤍💪🏼
