Worsley CC is based to the west of Manchester and is proud to be a founder member of the Greater Manchester Cricket League. The club was founded in 1846 by the 1st Earl Ellesmere as one of the ways of improving the lot of his estate workers and those involved in building St Mark’s Church. The club has had two other grounds but has been on its current delightful plot just through the trees off Walkden Road since the late 1800’s. Apart from during World War 1, cricket has been played on the ground continuously in both a friendly and competitive capacity. We have 3 senior teams and our fast growing junior section will have teams at under 9, under 11, under 13 and under 15 during the 2017 season. We also encourage playing for fun and have a large and still growing section of children aged 4-8. If you are on the look out for a new club we are always happy to welcome new players.
