What a game! ⚽🔥 🦅💙

An incredible contest between two evenly matched teams today, finishing 5–5 after a thrilling battle from start to finish.

We started strong and went 1–0 up with a goal of the season contender from Isla Haslam. The opposition fought back to lead 2–1, but two brilliant goals from Isla Hartley put us 3–2 ahead at half-time.

After holding firm for a long period in the second half, we conceded two back to back goals to go 4–3 down. Isla Hartley completed her hat-trick to level it with 8 minutes to go, before the opposition scored again late on. In the dying moments, Isla Haslam struck once more to make it 5–5 — a deserved finish to an outstanding game.

👏 Credit to the opposition goalkeeper who kept them in the game, and two shots against the post.

11–0 win today and we dominated from the very first whistle 💪
Everyone worked so hard, moved the ball brilliantly, and played some lovely football. I mixed things up a bit and we had some fun seeing if everyone could get on the scoresheet 😄

We’ll have tougher games ahead, but it’s great to enjoy these moments when we can. I even let them play with 10 for most of the game to try and even things up!

Unlucky to lose, but that was honestly the best game I’ve watched this season so far — I actually enjoyed it more than some of our big wins!

The effort from every one of the nine girls who played today was outstanding. You all absolutely ran your socks off, and games like that do wonders for your confidence and development in football. You should all be really proud of yourselves 💪⚽️
