Always follow the Water Safety Code:
💦Stop and think
Take time to assess your surroundings. Look for the dangers and always research local signs and advice.
💦Stay together
When around water always go with friends or family. Swim at a lifeguarded venue.
🚨In an emergency
📱 Call 999
If you are at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Don’t enter the water to rescue.
🤽 Float
Fall in or become tired - stay calm, float on your back and call for help. Throw something that floats to somebody that has fallen in.

We're supporting Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK Drowning Prevention Week
📅13th - 20th June 2026
This week, we're helping to raise awareness of water safety by sharing vital advice across all of our leisure centres.
Through fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities, our swimmers will learn important skills and knowledge to help them stay safe in and around water.
Recent research from RLSS UK shows that drowning incidents among 13–17-year-olds have increased by 67% between 2020 and 2025. This highlights just how important water safety education is.
Our goal is to help reduce these statistics by equipping children and young people with the confidence, awareness, and practical skills they need to enjoy water safely.
Together, we can make a difference and help keep everyone safer around water. 💙💦
