Lakeland Valley Carp Farm and Fisheries

Half way through this year already and here’s a few middle lake residents I don’t think I’ve shared yet? Might be wrong but all 20+ but still lots of fish I’m hoping to see before the year is out! 👌🏽

All lakes done with spawning now and getting on the food again so maybe we will see some of the rarer ones slipping up now they’re hungry 😂

Surelyyy there’s been a fish caught at keepers in the last two weeks? Haven’t had a pic sent since May 9th and I know there’s been a few people about 👀 in other news all the grassies are still growing with 4 over 20lb and the big one still not been caught 👀

Another brace of 20’s a few months back this time with an older fish with a newer fish! No prizes for guessing which one is which but middle lake continues to get better with all of the fish growing well and looking lovely 🙌🏼

Talked it into existence the other day, and although Rasta it’s 40lb, 36lb1oz isn’t too bad 👌🏽 this carp is going to be hugeeee 😅

Some of the top lake fish I’m quite eager to see and hope they break into the next weight barriers this year 👀

Red fish - 26lb+ in September and although slowed growth from its original onslaught, hoping it can push on and break 30lb this year!

Rasta - 9 months since its last bite at 34lb and the 9 months prior to that bite it grew from 29-34lb so praying it could be the 2nd 40+ this year!

New Stockie - not so new anymore but from being stocked, the first few years it stayed at 20lb although it only did 1 bite, then from winter 2024-spawning it put on 5lb and has now been missing for 11 months so fingers crossed it’s munching away under the radar 👀

Scar common - few scarred up commons coming through now but this had the name before they existed and was 23lb 14 months ago and hasn’t been caught since 👀 just want to see how it’s getting on!

The better half of a brace of 20lbers on middle lake in a day! This one going an oz under 27lb and has done 1 bite per year the previous 3 years with 4-5lb consistent growth 👀 gonna post up a few of the fish I’d like to see this year after being missing for a while so keep your eyes peeled for that and if any members catch them please let me know 😂🙌🏼

The bream is still filling up on food and spawn now at 41lb6oz! She normally has a growth spurt when she’s stamping her authority on being the biggest in the pond which makes me wonder what The Rasta is doing under the radar 👀 she is looking healthy though and hopefully we are finally see a few more bites from top lake that’s just been fishing well below par this year!

Another new 30 in the middle lake 🙌🏼 did get reports of this fish going 30 last week but always like to get confirmation on at least 2 sets of scales so when it got caught this week as well after no bites for 11 months it was lovely to see and to be sure that it’s yet another fish over 30lb 😍🙌🏼

How’s this for a brace of 20’s first week of March 😍🙌🏼 Middle lake has the potential to surpass all we thought it might in a shorter time frame than we planned and I can’t wait to watch it happen 👌🏽
