January volunteers needed 🤞🏻

Due to illness & our regular volunteers having other commitments there are spaces on the January rota.

14th January - 1-2 barcode scanners, 1 finish token giver
21st January - ideally 1 barcode scanner, 1 tailwalker
28th January - 1 finish token giver & ideally 1 barcode scanner.

Congratulations to Rebecca on completing her 50th parkrun!

Big thank you as well to the Sprowells who are an integral part of our volunteer family, we’d struggle to put on an event every week without them.

A reminder that we aren’t having a Christmas event this year so we will see you next Saturday.

Mansfield parkrun cancelled 17/12/22.

With regret we’ve had to cancel due to unsafe conditions.

Liam checked the course yesterday morning, Darren & Bob yesterday night it looked ok BUT Darren went down again early this morning and it’s very slippy, icy and unsafe and therefore we are cancelling.

Unfortunately tomorrow (10th December) we are cancelled due to ice. Our core team have been out several times today and the course is unsafe - it is unlikely to improve overnight.

Just a quick announcement:
We have decided NOT to have Xmas Day & New Years Day parkruns this year.

Mansfield parkrun will still be on as normal Xmas Eve & New Years Eve (weather permitting).

Was my job to sort the finish tokens this week and unfortunately we’ve had yet another token go missing! Please return the tokens after the run!

For now we will have to use paper substitutes to get us by - if you get number 56 or 69 this week you will need to see the RD who has to take a note of who you are and then the results processor has to add you in the results manually.

If you have taken a token home (accidents happen) just return it no questions asked we just want them back.

Results are now on - unfortunately we had an issue most likely around the 29 minute mark onwards - we had someone come through the funnel who hadn’t completed the parkrun and we are unsure whether a token was issued or not - we’ve tried our best to rectify this using Garry’s amazing skills and my memory of where people finished - there is more than likely some discrepancies in the results (although I don’t think any big ones) - if you feel that your time is vastly wrong and you would like it amending - please email [email protected]

Don’t forget this Saturday we’re having a pacer week 😊

There’s a 22,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,32,34 minute pacer plus 2 x parkwalkers so come join us if your wanting to beat a PB, walk parkrun or just do your own thing.

Firstly I’d like to congratulate Melissa on running her 100th parkrun with us this morning - well done, Melissa 😊

We had a hoody left in our kit bag - if it’s yours please come and claim it next week. Also, we had a barcode tag handed in, again please come and collect next week.

Looking to next week, it’s our 10th anniversary!!! Come celebrate with us for a pacer week - we have 10 pacers (times 22-36 minutes) and also a parkwalker (who will be walking the course but isn’t the tailwalker) - so if you want to walk the course come and join us you’ll be in good company 😊

It’s our 10th anniversary on the 24th September and we are having a pacer week.

I have pacers for 22,24,28,30 minutes but are looking for a few more - if you would like to pace please comment below or email [email protected] with what time you would like to pace (avoiding the times already specified).

Also if anyone would like to volunteer to be a ‘parkwalker’ (which is a new role) on this day let me know as we want to encourage as many people to attend as possible and of course we welcome walkers 😊

We are deeply saddened to hear about the death of Queen Elizabeth II - she was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.

We have decided to proceed as normal tomorrow with parkrun but we will have a minutes silence before the start.

Still need someone for this - the run will still go ahead but if there’s any problems with timings due to not having enough folks in the finish funnel everyone will get a 59:59

If you’d rather not barcode scan but can do something else in the finish funnel I can swap things round - but we do need one more person.

Also, if you finish in the first 15 or so runners usually you can run and then barcode scan after.

Sunshine 🌞! Lovely morning for a parkrun!

Congratulations to our lovely tailwalker Mandy Moody who completed her 250th parkrun, and 50th volunteer stint today. She has done them all at Mansfield! Thank you for the chocolate and fruit, Mandy 😘😘

Also, thank you to those that helped the runner who became unwell, he was in good spirits at the end and was collected by his family.
