🏏 A win for our First XI! 💚🖤

Our Firsts were at home for the final time this season, taking on Anston CC. We lost the toss and were asked to field first.

Our bowling unit put in a brilliant shift, bowling Anston out for just 92 in 35 overs.

🎯 Jack, Greeny & Will – 2 wickets each
🎯 Plus a run out 👏

Out to chase, we got the job done in 31.5 overs, finishing 96/5.

A great way to finish our home fixtures for the season. Now we look ahead to our final game of the season next week, away at Wiseton.

What an evening! Despite the cricket being called off, we had a brilliant time at Debdale last night celebrating the life and memory of our teammate, friend and much-loved member of our clubs, Phil “Stanno” Stanley.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who came along, donated, bought raffle tickets and supported the fundraising, we raised an amazing £720.50! 🎉🐾

The money raised will be split between:
🏏 Sherwood Colliery Cricket Club
🏑 North Notts Hockey Club
🐾 Dogs Trust

A really special moment during the evening was the unveiling of the new Phillip Stanley End sign at the cricket club — a permanent reminder of Stanno and the impact he had on our club and everyone who knew him. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated prizes, helped organise the evening and supported us on the night. It really was a fantastic effort from everyone involved.

We hope everyone who joined us enjoyed the evening as much as we did.

And don’t worry… plans are already underway for next year, when we WILL be getting the cricket match played! 🏏😂

🚨 Unfortunately, due to the weather, tonight’s Phil “Stanno” Stanley Memorial T20 cricket match has been cancelled. 🌧️🏏

However, the evening isn’t cancelled! ❤️

We will still be at Debdale Sports Park tonight to come together, celebrate Stanno’s life and raise money. 🐾

So please feel free to come up, have a drink, share some memories, have a chat and support what is still going to be a special evening in Stanno’s memory.

We’ll still have our raffle and fundraising activities, so please bring some cash and help us raise as much as we can.

The cricket might have lost to the weather, but we’re not letting it stop us celebrating Stanno. ❤️

Unfortunately, both games were called off, with each team taking 6 points.

That means the Seconds are now done for the year. 👏 A huge thank you to everyone who has played, supported and helped the team throughout the season. 🏏

Now, all focus turns to our First Team, who still have two games left to go! 💪

Not the way we wanted to finish the weekend, but sometimes the weather has other ideas!
