Caroline Banks (aka Banxi) is a DJ, music producer, sound healer, and yoga teacher whose career moves between the sound of underground electronic music, movement and the potency of healing frequencies. From warehouse raves and dusty dance floors to intimate clubs and iconic venues like Brixton Academy, Caroline’s early years were steeped in the raw energy of underground music. She played across the world, collecting music, inspiration, and memories that would shape her path far beyond the Dj booth. While living in Birmingham, she trained as a personal trainer, developing a strong connection to movement and physical resilience. Her path expanded further after studying yoga in the Himalayas, where she deepened her understanding of discipline, breath, and balance. It was there that Kura Zana was born, a philosophy blending strength with grounding. Strong body, calm mind. A year of sobriety in Ibiza opened a new chapter. Introduced to sound healing through a friend, Caroline recognised the same energy she feels when music evokes emotion, the way a track shifts something inside you. Experiencing the resonance of instruments such as crystal bowls and tuning forks wasn’t just calming, it was physical. It reconnected her to parts of herself that had been forgotten or disconnected from. Caroline sees the body as a finely tuned instrument. Life, stress, trauma, emotions can knock it out of tune. Sound healing is a way to bring it back into harmony, to slow the mind, soothe the nervous system, and reconnect to what was always there beneath the noise. Returning to Brighton, she trained with the Sound Healing Academy, completing Level 1 and 2 in sound therapy. Her work today invites people to explore movement, sound, and stillness; to journey through shadow and light, mind and emotion, just as she continues to do. Now based in Brighton, Caroline offers DJ sets, sound journeys, retreats, yoga classes, and ecstatic dance music. She manages a studio space in Seven Dials, LifeFit Complete-a place dedicated to personal training, yoga, community and the unseen frequencies that move beneath the surface.
