Joule's Market Drayton Bowling Club

A couple of big games coming up over the next few weeks for the club. Firstly, the Whitchurch A team reached the Jubilee doubles semi finals earlier this week with victory over District B team at Tilstock. The reward for that is a huge tie against current Whitchurch division 1 leaders and Premier league side Adderley A. Match to be played Wednesday 26th August, venue tbc. Secondly the Market Drayton seniors team are through to the final of the Eric Dobson doubles where they will also play against the mighty Adderley A. Match to be played from 11am at Tilstock on Thursday 10th Sept. Good luck to both teams! 👊

A big congratulations to our very own Richard Swire for defending the Vera Key singles titles against Mark Faulkner in the final. Also a big congratulations to Andy Watkiss who won the consolation cup final against Sam Burnham. A big thanks to everyone who took part and helped out today.

This Sunday if anyone is interested. Great green to bowl on too!

A huge congratulations and commiserations to our very own Matt Eley on a fantastic performance in the Market Drayton League Merit today! 👏🏆

Matt produced some fantastic bowls throughout the day to reach the final, where he was narrowly edged out 21–18 by Tina Ralph of Nantwich Park Road in what was a thrilling and closely fought contest.

Club Doubles Competition Day 2026 🏆🏆

What a fantastic day at the club, with some brilliant matches, great competition, and plenty of support throughout!

A huge congratulations to this year's Doubles Competition winners, Andy Watkiss and Lauren Swire, who came through a superb final to defeat Dave Brisbourne and Paul Humphries 21-17. A fantastic performance from both pairs and a final worthy of the occasion.

Congratulations also to Ant Brisbourne and Veronica Kavanagh, who edged out Sam Burnham and Kev Koleszar 21-20 in an incredibly hard-fought Consolation Cup Final. Another thrilling match that could have gone either way!

A massive thank you to everyone who helped out behind the scenes today. From organising, setting up, scoring, catering, and supporting throughout the day, your efforts helped make it another successful event for the club. Days like this simply wouldn't happen without the commitment of our volunteers and members.

And finally, a special thank you to the weather gods for smiling down on us and providing near perfect conditions all day long! ☀️😄
