Another cracking team performance today and a well earned 5-0 win.

We started on the front foot and looked dangerous from the off. There were some excellent attacking moves and after coming close a few times we finally went ahead when Isaac found the net with a sweet strike from outside the box. The lads continued to play attacking football and it payed off with Ted scoring twice to put us 3-0 up at HT.

The lads kept up the momentum in the second half and played some really good football. Ted rounded off his hat-trick with a neat finish under the keeper before Elijah smashed one in the top corner to round off a cracking performance.

MOTM was Ted who was phenomenal today. Really good on the ball, linked up well with the wingers and a well earned hat-trick ⚽️⚽️⚽️ 🏆

A tough and challenging first game for the boys today against a strong and physical opposition. Playing on the big stage seemed to unsettle us early on, and the boys looked a little intimidated in the opening stages. We found ourselves down early on and it could have been worse if it wasn’t for some tremendous goalkeeping and bravery from Marco, who made some fantastic saves to keep us in the game.

As the boys settled into the match, their confidence grew and began to play some good football. In fact we finished the first half the stronger team showing some great character to turn things around after such a difficult start.

Our first goal came from some brilliant wing play from Albie who showed great skill and determination to bounce through some heavy tackles before playing Joshua in who kept his cool and calmly slotted home from close range. A fantastic team goal !

The second half saw us continue to battle, and we were rewarded with another excellent goal. Josh played a fantastic through ball in to Albie, who finished well to pull the score back, we were right back in the game and had the opposition on the ropes.

Unfortunately we switched off on a couple of occasions due to a lack of concentration and shipped a few more goals. The game had gone at this point but credit to the lads we pulled another back to stay in the game.

Staying focused and switched on throughout is the challenge for the boys but we have to remember first game nerves were probably a factor today for some of the boys.

Overall there were lots of positives to take from the match. The boys showed bravery determination and a fantastic willingness to keep fighting, particularly after a difficult start. There is plenty of potential in this group and with more experience their confidence will grow.

Top performance from minute one where we pressed relentlessly and moved the ball really well!

It's hard to single out performances as every one of them played their part - when subs came on they kept the intensity high and despite scoring eight, we could have scored many more!

Goals shared around the team but pick of the goals for me had to be Freddie McGrath's header from a corner 🙌

Only our second game at 11 a side and a second victory.
The lads went behind early against the run of play before showing great character to wrestle control of the game back.
Nicely hit left foot shot in to the bottom corner from Ronan brought us level.
Our pressure told as Lev found the corner with a nicely taken finish in to the top corner.
Our dominance was rewarded when we won a free kick out on the outer right side of the penalty area. Perfect for a left footer and Lev got his trademark in to the far corner to make it 3-1. We made it 4-1 when George reacted first to a wonderful strike that hit the bar from outside the area with a great first time strike in to the bottom corner.
We then made free changes to freshen things up as the lads had put so much in to the game. We struggled for a period and they pulled a goal back to make it 4-2. We restored our 3 goal lead when Henry got his head to
a corner which was deflected in off their defender. The dubious goals committee has awarded it to Henry though! 😂
Just before half time they made it 5-3 after their player raced through and finished well.
The second half needed us to dig in for a period as the home team started to have a spell of dominance. We held firm before freshening things up for the final 20 minutes. We started to dominate and chance after chance went begging to seal the win. Ultimately we got it near the end with Ronan’s second goal.

Coaches Player of the Match was Alex who played full back on both flanks nullifying the threat of their wide players. Terrific application and effort getting some great tackles in as well as supporting the wingers.

Parents Player of the Match was Ronan for being absolutely everywhere in the centre of midfield. He broke up so many attacks, got us on the front foot and chipped in with two goals.

So good to see the team playing with confidence and a smile on their faces! Well done boys!

A truly dominant 2nd win of the season for the U14s, but we were wasteful in front of goal and should’ve really scored 10.

The lads got off to a great start with a devastating hat trick from Harry inside 20 mins. He was a threat up front all game. Aaron and Charlie M were both unlucky not to score in a very comfortable first half, 3-0.

2nd half was more of the same. Wave after wave of attack but the ball just wouldn’t go in the net. We finally got our 4th with a neat volley from Aldo from Rowan’s corner, and we should’ve scored 4 more.

A very solid team performance with a notable debut from Charlie M, a clean sheet for Miles in net and some great midfield work from Jonah.

Player of the match goes to Charlie S who was dominant and classy at CB. He won everything in the air and set us off on countless attacks with a good range of passing.

The boys played some fantastic football at times, particularly the first half, with excellent passing moves from back to front.

Charlie kept the opposition out and secured the win with a great save near the end. Byron, Harvey and Nathan put solid performances in at the back, breaking up their attacks and setting us forward.

Parker nearly scored on a couple of occasions. Ell worked his socks off throughout battling to win the wall back and drive us forward.
James, Archie and Luca scored our goals. Some great powerful composed finishes.

A joint PoTM today for James and Nathan. James was all over the pitch and got two well deserved goals with superb finishes.

Nathan was excellent in winning the ball and setting us forward. He was also unlucky not to score at the end when he hit the post from a dribbling run.

Well done boys. A great start to the season!

Really entertaining first game of the season against a really good vikings team. We started slowly and found ourselves three goals down. Boys showed great character and responded well to grab a goal before half time following some quality build up play. Second half the boys were fantastic and played some really good football. We scored again but just couldn’t quite get the equaliser. Player of the match today was Noah - he was just phenomenal in the midfield making so many crucial tackles, always wanted the ball and also carried the ball forward so well with some driving runs. Finally big shout out to our goalkeeper Theo who was superb and made some unbelievable saves today.

Victory for the girls this afternoon vs Bluestar.

Another gladiatorial effort from all the girls with only 7 available players due to injury and illness, all of them giving their all.

We once asked them to go out and enjoy it and explained all will be finding themselves in a multitude of positions.

Some of the football on display was of the highest quality, moving the ball from back to front, side to side and regularly coming back to create space.

Second half against the wind yet continuing to spray the ball around and create some brilliant chances.

Managers player to Nellie who scored her first hat trick for the reds and overall performance

Parents player to Sofia who was also brilliant on her first game of the season.

A shout out to every girl for their effort and application and all outfield players managed to get on the scoresheet.

Finished off with a birthday singalong and chocolates for Niamh who was match day captain.

Finally a huge shout out to Bluestar for playing their part in an entertaining game and continuing to play a passing game.

Strong performance from the whole team today, some great attacking football, and some solid defending in front of two really good goalkeepers in Alexander and Tobias.

This was the first time the team had played together but it didn't show, including with the newest arrivals Henry and Alexander having a really good game.

We opened the scoring with a lovely shot from Hudson, quickly followed by another nice goal from Tobias. James was next on the score sheet hitting one into the roof of the net from a good distance.

The opposition picked up and we needed really solid play from Reuben in the centre to see off a few of the opposition attacks before he then drove the ball forwards himself. Henry added some clever passing in midfield alongside his good play up front.

In the second half Alexander came out of goal and showed his speed and skill with an excellent second half hat-trick, while Tobias performed well in goal. Spinghead's strongest player made an impact with two goals, but we continued to have the better of the chances, and Hudson sealed the game with a nice finish at the end.

Alistair picked James for man of the match for a solid all round game, including a lovely goal, but most importantly for constantly looking to find space in attack and track players in defence, and for listening really well to the coaches instructions.

Well done boys. A fantastic first outing and all should be proud of their effort 👍👍
