🔴⚪ MIDWEEK CUP ACTION ⚪🔴

A big one under the lights on Tuesday night as the First Team make the short trip to Buckingham FC in the next round of the Buckingham Charity Cup.

The lads come into it off the back of Saturday’s penalty shootout win over Finmere and will be looking to keep the cup run going against a strong Buckingham side.

⚽ MGFC WEEKEND ROUND-UP 🔴⚪

A busy weekend for the club with all three senior sides in action.

The First Team are through to the next round after a proper cup battle against Finmere. A drama filled 2–2 after normal time before the lads held their nerve to win 6–5 on penalties. Crusey and Harry Hertiage with the goals before the shootout drama.

The Devs travelled to Bletchley Scot and came away on the wrong side of a tight 3–2 game. Dee and Joe Reilly on the scoresheet. Plenty of positives despite the result.

The Vets rounded off the weekend away at Stoneleigh. A few goals flying about in a 5–3 defeat, with Matt Dunn getting one and Steve Lewis helping himself to two.

One win and two narrow defeats, but plenty of goals and another full weekend of football for MGFC.

This weekend fixtures….. 🔴⚪️

All 4 teams in action this weekend.

1st the under 9s are back at home, after a great start to the season the boys will be looking to continue there good form.

1st team are at also at home in the inter divisional cup as they take on Finmere from the the intermediate division. Both teams are unbeaten so far this season so it’s all set up to be a cracker down the nest.

Alex and Colin take there devs over to Bletchley. They’ll be looking to bounce back after last weeks 1st defeat of the season. Will be tough with Bletchley sitting top but the boys are in good spirits

Then on Sunday Gup and the vets start there league campaign as they make the long trip to Stoneleigh. With new faces in the squad Gup’s side will be looking to improve on last season.

THIS WEEKEND AT MGFC

A triple game weekend for the Robins, with all three sides in action.

U9s
The U9s travel into Oxford as they take on Florence Park. Good luck to Mike and the boys as they continue their league season.

First Team
Tommy’s First Team host MK Hazara down The Nest. After a great start to the season, the lads will be looking to keep the momentum going and pick up another three points.

2pm kick-off. Get down and support the lads if you can.

Development Team
The Devs travel to MK to take on Tattenhoe. After another brilliant start to the season, Alex and Colin will be looking for their side to continue their good form.

MGFC WEEKEND RECAP

Last Saturday was a brilliant day for the club both on and off the pitch.

First up, it was great to see Mike and our U9 Robins take centre stage as we welcomed youth football back to Marsh. A fantastic morning of kids’ football and brilliant to see the next generation of Robins playing down at The Nest.

Then Saturday evening we headed to the Village Hall for our MGFC Race Night. What a night it was! It was great to see so many people from the village come out and support the club, with plenty of laughs along the way and a fantastic amount of money raised for MGFC.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along, bought horses, had a bet and supported the evening. Also a huge thank you to everyone who helped organise and run the night, along with all of our race sponsors and main sponsor CT Walters Electrical. We really appreciate the support.

Days like Saturday are exactly what a village football club is all about. Kids playing football in the morning and the village coming together to support the club in the evening.

A very good day for MGFC.

MGFC RACE NIGHT – TONIGHT!

Tonight’s the night! Race Night is finally here at Marsh Gibbon Village Hall.

We’ve had a brilliant response in the build up, with all 48 pre-sale horses SOLD, but don’t worry if you haven’t got a horse there will still be 16 horses up for auction tonight, as well as the cash tote on every race.

Saturday 5th September
Marsh Gibbon Village Hall
First race – 8pm
FREE ENTRY

8 races throughout the night, cash tote, cash prizes, horses to auction, bar open and the Fish & Chip Van will be there too.

Bring your mates, bring the family, have a few bets and enjoy a good night down the village hall.

A massive thank you to everyone who has bought a horse, sponsored a race or helped us get everything ready. All money raised tonight goes back into Marsh Gibbon Football Club.

Hopefully see plenty of you there tonight.

A quieter weekend for the senior sides, with the U9s taking centre stage down The Nest.

🔴First Team
No game this weekend. The Firsts currently sit 2nd in the Premier after a good start to the season.

🔴Development Team
Today’s game against MK Wanderers has been cancelled, with Marsh awarded the walkover. That leaves the Devs top of the league with two wins from two.

🔴Vets
No game this weekend.

🔴U9s
