Evening all
Daz from advanced targets
Im looking forward to visiting your club tomorrow for the first time 😃😃
I will be bringing a few targets with me and a target for you to try out on your plinking range i call it the pin hole challenge 😎😎see you all tomorrow, thanks daz
If any of you home shooters are interested in new targets for you home ranges or garden plinking, Daz from Advanced Targets is paying us a visit on Sunday.
We’ve already purchased some targets for the club. The build quality is simply superb and they represent excellent value for money.
Thankfully, the peak air temperature today fell from Saturday’s high of 31.8C to a more comfortable 23C, accompanied by a light to moderate wind that played its usual tricks.

Sam Hemmings took the open class with 54, three points clear of Jason Cowan and Mike Hymas. The recoil class promised to be very interesting, as it brought together the three top placed competitors from the UKAHFT National Recoil Championship of five weeks ago, and this time Perry Broad lead the way with 52, followed by Andrew Timmins and Stew Searle a point behind, and Dan Gordon one point behind them.

Many thanks to Mick and Jason for refreshing the course in yesterday’s withering heat.
The day dawned overcast and cool, brightening and warming as the morning wore on, with a light to moderate east south east wind playing tricks throughout.

Jason Cowan and Stu Hill tied on 53 in the open class, with Jason ahead on count back, while young Kristian Whale again tied on the top recoil score, this week relegating his Dad Chris to second place on count back.

Dan Mcmahan took the open class with 56, two points ahead of Bill Birch, Sam Hemmings, Phil Soper and Mick Boswell. In the recoil class, Perry Broad and young Kristian Whale tied on 48, with Perry pipping it on count back.

A beautiful sunny and warm start to the day, with a little light rain later, and just enough wind to make you wonder whether a target history was the result of people aiming off for wind that wasn’t there, or not aiming off for wind that was. Classic Nomads.

In the open class, Stu James tied with Jason Cowan on 56, with Stu ahead on count back, while Perry Broad was out on his own in the recoil class on 53, four points clear of young Kristian Whale.

An HFT club It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce the opening of a new HFT club set in the Worcestershire village of Berrow Green, Martley.

Nomads HFT is a brand new club opening at the superb ground that was formerly home to Worcester Air Rifles. The club, run by the members, opened in August 2015 and has been welcoming new and old shooters from all walks of life. We mostly shoot HFT courses set to UKAHFT specifications but we are trying to expand the facilities at the club to cater for other shooting disciplines and for those that d

Further details for Saturday recoiling shoot.

The entry fee will be £7, which includes the Bonus Bunny, tea and coffee, and a freshly grilled, locally produced, ‘Knightwick’ sausage in a bread roll. If anyone wants a full breakfast, eat-in or take away (not included in the entry fee, though the prices are reportedly very reasonable), the Mayfly café at Cob House Fishery (WR6 6YE) is less than ten minutes away.

Gates open from 8:00am, safety speech 9:45am for a 10:00am start. 30 shot course to UKAHFT rules.

Camping free from noon on Friday – all we ask is that you take all your empty bottles, cans and food wrappings away.

If you have not visited Nomads before, the postcode is WR6 6PL, which will get you to the Admiral Rodney on Berrow Green, and the club ground entrance is on the same side of the road, roughly 100 yards in the direction of Martley from the Admiral Rodney car park.

Nomads are delighted to again be hosting the 2022 UKAHFT National Recoil Championship on Saturday, May 14th.

The course will comprise 30 targets set strictly to UKAHFT rules, and will be open to all recoiling sub-12 ft. lb. spring/gas ram/piston air rifles. Signing in and the zero range will be open from 8:00, safety speech circa 10:00 for a 10:15 start.

One way or another, hot food will be available on site; if numbers warrant, with our favoured caterers Top Nosh; otherwise we’ll fire up the club barbeque. Camping (no charge) will be available by arrangement.

More details nearer the date.

Morning all, after our inspection of the grounds this morning we’ve made the decision not to open now until the day of the Daystate.
With the forecast uncertain, it will enable us to protect the ground as much as possible.

Due to the torrential rain forecast for tomorrow we have taken the decision not to open.
Apologies to all!

An unseasonal, but very welcome, warm and dry morning followed heavy overnight rain. The wind was from the south west and light (10 to 15 Km/h), and very difficult to call on some sections of the course.

Stu Hill perhaps uniquely took both first and last places in the open class with 47, the others not handing in cards, while Perry Broad top scored in the recoil class with 50, followed by Chris Whale on 46.

The Boxing Day shoot at Nomads is one of the events we most look forward to. By tradition, it has never been held on Boxing Day, and also by tradition, the club supplies free food, hot drinks, and raffle prizes for all, supplemented by prizes brought by attendees.

The weather was far from promising. I think it’s two weeks since we last saw any sunshine here on Berrow Hill and, with high humidity, and a fair amount of rain, the ground was wet and rather soft. Admittedly light rain started around 9:00am and stuck around for most of the day, and the maybe 10KPH east wind was quite enough to cause problems. Not that any of this dampened the spirits of those on site.

Neil Palmer was out on his own in the open class with an outstanding 58, followed by James McLachlan on 54, and Sam Hemmings taking third place on count back with 53. The springer class was much the same, with Perry Broad on 48, five points clear of second place Chris Whale, himself one point ahead of Dave Gallichan and Nick Stangate on 43.

Thanks to all who helped get everybody parked up, then safely on their way.

This year’s Nomads Boxing Day shoot will be held on Monday 27th. December (which is a bank holiday).

Gates open 8:30 for a 10:00 am start. New 30 target course, much shot from new routes through the woods, to UKAHFT rules.

After a sunny start, the sun went, then came and went as the morning progressed. The wind was very light, but just enough to take pellets out of kill zones, and on occasion next to impossible to call.

Summer may have officially ended, but nobody, it seems, told the sun, because today at Berrow Hill had all the hallmarks of a glorious summer’s day. Fairly clear overnight skies saw the temperature around 13C at gates open, rising to 23.9C as I write, and the wind started off a whisper, but picked up to mildly frisky as the morning wore on.

A lovely day to be on the eastern flank of Berrow Hill, with sunshine aplenty, but a cool north westerly wind to keep temperatures (and, in some cases scores) in check.

The course was unaltered from last week’s round of the nationals, but with a tad more in the way of wind. Top of the open class was Neil Palmer with 56, followed by Dave Gallichan with 54. The gate will be open from noon on Friday 20th for anyone shooting the National here on 22nd who wishes to camp Friday and Saturday. Club officials will be on hand to advise on where to pitch tents, and to arrange for water containers to be filled if needed.

There will be no fee for camping, but camping is conditional on taking all your rubbish home. The gate will be closed (but not locked – you’re free to come and go) around 6:00pm. Anyone arriving after that time, please close the gate behind you.

The club is within easy walking distance of the Admiral Rodney, which has a good reputation locally (always a good sign) for its food.

Pleasantly warm but never hot, and with the sun peeking through the clouds from time to time, it was a beautiful day to be on Berrow Hill, but a cheeky southerly wind played havoc with targets in lanes running east and west, which comprised two thirds of the course.

It was forecast to be the hottest day of the year to date, and dawned with largely clear skies that quickly clouded over, and that remained the case for most of the morning, then the cloud broke, and anyone starting the course late had time to regret it as the temperature soared.

As it has received some very positive feedback from our members we will still be adopting a rolling start, from around 8.30.
Many thanks.

Afternoon folks, due to the volume of rain in the last few days, parking will be at the bottom tomorrow.

09/05/2021

The day was forecast to be overcast with light winds, and was wrong on both counts! After an admittedly grey start, the sun started to poke through, then the clouds became intermittent and we all enjoyed welcome warm sunshine. The wind was there from first light, and picked up as the morning progressed. Actually, it wasn’t so much the wind strength that posed problems as its rapid switching from one direction through 180 degrees and back again.

Not all scorecards were handed in, but I don’t think anyone topped Sam Hemmings 53 in the open class, nor Perry Broad’s 52 in recoil.

We pulled in two old courses and started building a new club course last weekend, which we have just completed so, this coming Sunday (18th), the gate will open from 8:30am for paid-up club members to shoot the new course, with the rolling start format that worked so well last year.

Huge thanks to Perry, Stu, Dave and Ady for all their hard work.

We have delayed club membership subscription renewal for some eighteen months, and members will be invited to renew from 2nd May.

27/03/2021

It’s been a long 3 months(6 for some of us !)
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
