What a fantastic start to our finals weekend. It was so lovely seeing a lot members come along to watch the games taking place today.

I’m not privy to any scores yet, but the following results are in:

Ladies Fixed Jack: Karen C secured victory beating Jean B.

Ladies Captains Cup: Denise C beat Cathy A.

Men’s Pairs: Denis ‘Pop’ R and Bob F beat Ian Ward and Trevor A.

Men’s Captains Cup: Mike D beat Barry D.

Men’s two woods: Keith O beat Martin V.

Ladies Singles: Maureen G beat Karen C.

The Lennox Boyd: Stuart P beat Jamie U.

Mixed Triples: Neil W, Christine M and Mark G beat Jackie R, Elwyn O and Graham F.

Thanks to the markers of the games: Christine A, Elaine K, Doug K, Steve J, Margaret F and Malcolm L.

The Aussie Pairs final, was held today - reported by our roving reporter, Ed Carter.

Really close Aussie pairs final with Keith Owen and Rick Basciano, coming from behind after a bad start, to take the match on the last end.

John Gilheany and Phil Eversden played very well. However, Keith and Rick picked up a 3 on the last end, to win 16-14.

The Trophy was presented by the tournament organiser, Eric Edwards.

Well done to all who entered the competition, and especially to the finalists.

I know it’s coming to the end of the outdoor season, but this is also relevant to those of you who play indoor bowls.

🔥 LAWN BOWLS FOOT PLACEMENT — IT’S ALL ABOUT THE LINE! 🎯🦶

Ever wondered why one bowl feels absolutely perfect… and the next one seems to have a mind of its own? 😅

Sometimes the answer starts before the bowl even leaves your hand.

In the next part of our Lawn Bowls Foot Placement Series, we look at a simple but important question:

👉 WHERE SHOULD YOUR FOOT POINT?

Your foot position can influence the direction of your step, body movement, arm swing and ultimately the path of your bowl. Get the setup right, and you’re giving yourself one less variable to fight during the delivery. 💪🟢

🎯 RIGHT-HANDED? Think about the outside of your right foot.
🎯 LEFT-HANDED? Mirror the principle with your left foot.

The idea is simple:

POSITION ➡️ ALIGN ➡️ DELIVER ➡️ IMPROVE

A tiny adjustment on the mat could make a surprisingly big difference to your consistency.

I know we’re all coming to the end of a fantastic season of bowling for 2026. However, getting ready for another fantastic year, 2027, we would like to invite you to participate in the various competitions on offer.

So, get your teams ready, and enter the competitive competitions, via your club Secretary. The closing entries are OCTOBER 2026!
