There has always been enough space in Melksham for all of the gyms to succeed and our growing membership numbers proved this.

It's nice to see one of the bigger gyms reaching out. Of course as a business they are going to hope many of you sign up with them, but I think the offer of a discount is a kind gesture and something we should definitely pass on to you all ❤️

It is with profound sadness that we must announce the closure of the gym, effective immediately. Taking over of the business in February last year included the commitment to take on some of the debts from the previous establishment. Unfortunately, the delayed reopening due to issues with Scottish Power resulted in delayed repayments, and the accumulating debt persisted as we awaited the green light to open.

Upon reopening, we started with just 49 active members. We have worked hard to get this number to 284 members as of yesterday, only 16 members away from our break-even target as a business. Despite making the minimum payments to our creditors during this growth period, the combined burden of debts incurred between February and July, along with those inherited from the previous business, has proved too much. Consequently, the landlords have opted to foreclose the business.

The lack of support from the landlords has been challenging. Our inability to trade over the first 5 months due to the building being without electricity was not adequately acknowledged, and communication with them has been difficult. Despite being on the cusp of initiating debt repayments, with other major creditors cooperating to create manageable repayment plans, and with grants in the application process to fortify the business, external forces have led to this painful decision.

The most painful aspect is not only being SO close to being able to make regular repayments of these debts (eventually leading to us profiting as a business) but also the tremendous effort our dedicated staff invested in rebuilding the business. Our staff and our valued members have, time and again, been let down by circumstances beyond our control.

After enduring the trials of the past few years, striving to make this business viable and pouring in copious amounts of time, energy, money, sweat, and tears into reopening last year, the forced closure is heart-wrenching.

Over the next week, we will proceed with cancelling all memberships and issuing refunds. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and express our deepest regret that it has come to this.

👀 We've noticed instances of friends letting others into the building without memberships. Our CCTV has captured on numerous occasions individuals scanning in one person while both enter, and even people texting their mates when they are outside to let multiple people access the building throughout the evening.

📢 To those involved, we've already reached out with warnings and CCTV footage. Please remember that your name is logged when accessing the building, and our comprehensive CCTV covers the entire gym, so don't risk losing your membership!

🎄 Christmas Update: Opening Hours at Fierce Fitness! 🎄

As the festive season approaches, we wanted to keep you in the loop about our Christmas opening hours. We're committed to providing you with access to the gym, even during the holidays. Here's the breakdown:

Manned Hours:

• Wednesday, 20th December: 2pm - 8pm
• Thursday, 21st December: 2pm - 6:30pm
• Friday, 22nd December: 4pm - 8pm

From Saturday, 23rd December, until Tuesday, 2nd January, the gym will be unmanned. However, our dedicated staff will be working behind the scenes to keep the gym clean and the water stations topped up, ensuring a fresh start for the New Year.

🌟 Access for Members:
Rest assured, even during unmanned days, the gym remains accessible 24/7 for our awesome members, even on Chritmas day! Memberships for same-day access can be purchased via our app or website.

We are looking for Saturday staff for a short 2 hour shift from 10am - 12pm every Saturday (with occasional weekday evenings for holiday/sickness cover).

The position includes free gym membership and pays above the national minimum wage.

The minimum age to apply is 16 years old (this may be an ideal position for a student due to the required hours).

An interest in using the gym and fitness is recommended but not necessary.
